The USS Hornet spent almost three decades traveling the world's oceans in service to our nation. The USS Hornet is currently berthed at Pier 3 on the former naval air station in Alameda, California. The ships active duty spanned the 1940's - 60's and was a key participant in WWII, The Vietnam War, the COld War and the recovery of the first two lunar landing space missions apollo 11 and 12.
