Speaker 3 00:05:33 Hmm. Have you seen that guy on or one like TikTok, YouTube, whatever it is, where he is, like get on the ground after he says something like very prophetic. Maybe not. Maybe I'm the Speaker 2 00:05:46 Only one. No, no. What does that have to do with anything's Speaker 3 00:05:49 It, it's kind of funny because he'll, he'll say something like paranormal beans is a thing. And then he does this like B get on the ground and like he's getting rated <laugh> it's kind of funny. Speaker 2 00:06:00 You lost me. Speaker 3 00:06:02 Okay. Forget it. All Speaker 2 00:06:03 Right. Speaker 3 00:06:04 <laugh> I'll send, I'll send, I'll send you an example. Speaker 2 00:06:06 All right. Anybody else? Anybody have anything else? Anything new? Speaker 5 00:07:04 I mean, I went on Sunday, I to Arizona, but it wasn't really anything. Yeah. Yeah. I just worked Speaker 2 00:07:10 Okay. Speaker 5 00:07:11 For two weeks. Speaker 3 00:07:12 You didn't go. You didn't go find scary things or curious things. Speaker 5 00:07:15 Uh, uh, went, went to see the grand canyon. Speaker 3 00:07:20 Oh, oh. I wonder if Speaker 5 00:07:21 That's ha and I did some roadside, roadside photography, since, since got some pictures. Speaker 2 00:07:26 They were pretty amazing. Pretty soon. Speaker 3 00:07:29 Is, is the grand canyon haunted? Speaker 5 00:07:32 I don't know. I didn't really check into that. I'm sure it is. I mean, people fall off the cliff all the time. There was actually, there was actually Speaker 3 00:07:44 Was actually, I was our response to laugh. There was, Speaker 5 00:07:46 There was an incident while we were there. I don't know if they just, oh, jeez. So little ways or a lot, you know? I don't know. Speaker 3 00:07:54 It sounds like there's a serial pusher Speaker 5 00:07:56 Maybe over there or maybe it's a ghost, Speaker 3 00:07:59 Maybe people. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Speaker 2 00:08:01 You wouldn't have to worry about that with me. I would. I just would not get anywhere near the edge. Speaker 5 00:08:05 It's hard not to though. Ah, it's so good. Not for me. Speaker 2 00:08:09 Not for me. It's Speaker 1 00:08:10 Very easy. Not to. I'll be in the car. Speaker 2 00:08:12 Yeah. Not, no, thank you. Speaker 3 00:08:14 <laugh> Scott. What's the name of the, what if it's like the forest that we talked about in Japan? What's the name of that forest again? Speaker 2 00:08:21 AGA forest AGA. Speaker 1 00:08:24 Aha. Speaker 3 00:08:26 <laugh> there you go. Speaker 2 00:08:27 Is that supposed to be, is that supposed to be, were you setting me up for something? Is that supposed Speaker 3 00:08:30 Not at all? I just, I couldn't, I couldn't remember what it was. I was, Speaker 2 00:08:33 I got trying to get it's the ING knocking ING knocking forth. Speaker 1 00:08:37 You nailed it. Smelled the, I smelled the setup for sure. Speaker 2 00:08:40 Yeah. Yeah. Danny, what do you got for Grims fairy tales? What do you got? Speaker 3 00:08:45 Yeah, so, uh, Grims fairy tales. I know we kind of batted this one around a little bit, but I I'm gonna share kind of an abbreviated history of kind of how all this got to came to fruition. I should say. It's kind of interesting story about the brothers grim, uh, as they're known, but, uh, Grims fairy tales are originally known as children's and household tales is a collection of folk stories and fairy tales written by two brothers, the grim brothers, if you hadn't guessed that by now, Jacob or some people in the us might call it Jacob, Speaker 2 00:09:20 Jacob. Yeah. Speaker 3 00:09:21 <laugh> <laugh> they're from Germany or, or in the Germany area. Well, Speaker 2 00:09:26 We appreciate your German pronunciation of their names. We do appreciate yes. Speaker 3 00:09:31 <laugh> yes. So Yaakov and Viv himm, uh, or William, as some might say, grim, uh, they were the two oldest brothers of 10 and um, these stories were first purposeless in 1812. And in that first edition, that contained about 86 different unique stories of, um, this collection of folk stories and fairy tales. And by the 17th edition, which was published in 1857, it contained 210 again, unique stories. And throughout their time there were different updates and publications. They started to become very popular. This is one thing I didn't know, um, is that the intent behind this was to preserve the, uh, culture and, uh, history of, um, the, the people in the area. So at this time the brothers were living in a time where the Napoleonic armies were, uh, carrying out the French invasion of Germany and they started to notice that they were diluting their culture and their heritage and things like that. Speaker 3 00:10:35 So the grim brothers actually sought out to preserve that culture and did so by collecting these, uh, stories and, um, documenting them in one, in one kind of, um, well, multiple different versions of, um, um, books over time. So they obtain these stories from different women, shepherds wagoners, which I'm assuming is like, uh, I don't know, person that rides across the country in a wagon, uh, Vance old grannys and children in many different forms, mostly auditory. So they had conversation with these people over time, collected these all into stories and printed them into a book. And there's kind of a hot debate going out about whether or not these stories were shared in the raw form, or if there was a little bit of creative license taken by the brothers over time to, um, in their final publications. So anyway, that's kind of the background about how this all kicked off. Speaker 3 00:11:34 I thought, uh, one of the things I wanted to share really quick is some of the main, uh, some of the popular ones we might know about these days in pop culture, uh, Cinderella comes from the grim, uh, stories, uh, snow, white Rapunzel, Rumple, stilt, skin, Hansel, and Gretel, the frog prints, um, little red riding hood and sleeping beauty, a couple of, uh, stories. I didn't really know. And again, there's 217 of these, but just hitting on a few of 'em here, uh, the girl without hands and one, I plan to explore a little bit more the mouse, the bird and the sausage, no clue what that's about, but sausage <laugh>. Yeah, it, it caught my mind. It caught Speaker 5 00:12:18 My Speaker 2 00:12:18 Attention porno. Speaker 3 00:12:21 That could be, it could be an interesting, uh, rendition of a grim story in, in these days. So I guess I'll see what it's all about, but Speaker 2 00:12:29 That's the that's coincidentally, coincidentally, that's the movie that tab watched for, uh, the movie review. <laugh> Speaker 5 00:12:36 Actually, I didn't hear about that one, but you know, Speaker 3 00:12:39 <laugh>, Speaker 2 00:12:39 It was the clown, the witch and the sausage Fest, but I mean, similar, Speaker 3 00:12:44 Get your popcorn, ready, get your popcorn ready. Speaker 5 00:12:47 His results can be found on only fans, just like, you know, Speaker 3 00:12:51 <laugh> yeah. I'm telling you, we need to start monetizing that thing. We're gonna have to get our rate up after this show. <laugh> yeah. All right. So what do you guys think? Um, I, I actually didn't know any of the history of, of how these kind of, I just really thought it was just sitting down and writing out stories, but, um, again, the intent was to kind of preserve the heritage and culture and, um, of the German people at the time, going through this, uh, French, uh, invasion. Speaker 4 00:13:19 I didn't realize that when these were first written, how they called them fairytales or what whatnot, but these were stories were not made for kids. No, Speaker 2 00:13:30 They were very dark originally, Speaker 5 00:13:32 Originally. Yeah. They were not very Speaker 4 00:13:34 Dark. I mean, the red, you know, Cinderella and snow white that you see on Disney, that is nothing like these stories. Speaker 2 00:13:42 No, Speaker 4 00:13:43 I mean, there were yeah. Violence, obsessed, sexual nature. I mean, just <laugh> um, so I guess they've kind of Speaker 2 00:13:52 Definitely not kid friendly. Speaker 4 00:13:53 Yeah. I guess through the, uh, right years and additions, they've kind of been toned down a little bit, but, Speaker 5 00:13:58 Well, yeah, I guess in the original Cinderella, the, the sisters mutated their feet to try to fit their feet into the slipper or cut their toes, or it is crazy their toes, their heels. Yeah. Just to get their foot in the, Speaker 3 00:14:14 Some, some cultures, some cultures do that. Speaker 4 00:14:18 That is true. Speaker 5 00:14:19 Yeah. Speaker 3 00:14:20 <laugh> geisha, I think the geisha do that. Um, but I don't know. It's, it's interesting to me, uh, um, like you said, the, um, nature of some of the original versions of these stories, and again, that debate is out there of whether or not these were, uh, there was some, some creativity added to these stories or if they were truly in their raw form, but some of these aren't maybe surprising considering if you guys remember back to our OUS episode, um, if remember the, uh, Birchwood and the kidnapping of misbehaving children, uh, maybe not a huge surprise, I guess, that some of these stories as they are. Speaker 2 00:15:02 Yeah. I was surprised at how many there were like, uh, you know, I came across a, a bunch of women doing my research and deciding which one I wanted to choose to mm-hmm <affirmative> to do mine on. I, I just was perplexed by the, the sheer amount of Speaker 4 00:15:18 Grim, Speaker 2 00:15:18 I think Grimms fairy tales that are actually out there, cuz I'm, I'm used to some of 'em that they've made into Disney movies and stuff, but had no idea that they were, there were so many of them, Speaker 4 00:15:28 I think there was over 200 just in the first volume alone when they first came out and then they added some throughout the years. Mm-hmm Speaker 2 00:15:35 <affirmative> all I can say is I also Speaker 3 00:15:37 Made some updates Speaker 2 00:15:38 For, for the sake of, uh, doing our homework. I'm just thankful that the, uh, the Grims brothers, right. Short story. Speaker 4 00:15:45 Yeah. Speaker 3 00:15:46 Cause I was, Speaker 2 00:15:48 I had one that was like three pages and it was, uh Speaker 3 00:15:50 <laugh> it Speaker 2 00:15:51 Was difficult to get through, difficult to get through. Yeah. Speaking of which, Jesse, which, uh, which Grims fairy tale, did you choose Speaker 4 00:15:59 Little red writing? Oh yeah. One, one of the more popular ones. Oh, but yeah, not the one that you saw in Disney. Speaker 2 00:16:06 Yeah. It's Speaker 4 00:16:07 Epi or, uh, addition one volume, one red riding hand. Well, tell Speaker 2 00:16:12 Us about it. Speaker 4 00:16:14 Um, origin Speaker 3 00:16:15 Story, Speaker 4 00:16:15 Origin story. Speaker 3 00:16:17 <laugh> yeah. Speaker 4 00:16:18 So earliest version, um, was like pre 17th century when, uh, for the story basically it's, it is very similar to the little red riding hood story that we all know from being a kid. But what I think the original story was, you know, it's a Wolf and he's this talking Wolf and everything, but I think the original story was about a wear Wolf because when you see their drawings and stuff of the original one, it has very similar aspects to a wear Wolf. And, but they don't really go into where that, where the wearable, you know, is it actually red riding Hood's grandmother or did it eat her grandmother, but it was pretty interesting. And it, um, did Speaker 2 00:17:13 It, was it, did it look similar to the beast of G to burden? Speaker 4 00:17:16 Yes. Speaker 3 00:17:19 Nailed it. Nailed it. It's about the same time period maybe. Speaker 4 00:17:22 Yeah. So yeah, the, the interesting part about the earliest version is little red riding hood comes into the, to the cabin and the WOL is dressed up like grandmother laying in bed, but the WOL asks red riding hood to take all of our clothes off, throw, throw 'em into the fire and then climb into bed. Wow. And then climb into bed with, with her or the wear wall. Speaker 2 00:17:52 And that didn't make the Disney Speaker 4 00:17:54 Cut. No it didn't. Oh, Speaker 3 00:17:56 <laugh> wow. Wow. Speaker 4 00:18:01 So yeah, it, it, um, its kind of a weird story just because um, red riding hood does end up escaping, but she, the, they like hide, tied her up with string and somehow she got the string loose and runs off, but it there's just a bunch of weird stuff in there about, you know, having to go to the bathroom and had to didn't want to go in the bed. So the, the Wolf let her go and it's just really, really weird story. Nothing. Like I thought the story was gonna be like <laugh> so the Disney, you know, adaptation of it is not, I mean it's, couldn't be any farther from the story mm-hmm Speaker 2 00:18:47 <affirmative> mm-hmm Speaker 4 00:18:48 <affirmative> um, but the, that the story that I read is 110%, I would not read that to my kid <laugh> but so yeah. I Speaker 2 00:19:00 Tell off all your clothes and yeah. In bed with grandma. Speaker 4 00:19:04 Yeah. It was. And the interesting part about it was there was no red hood in the story, the girl wasn't wearing a red hood. So Speaker 2 00:19:13 Ooh, kinda like the Mandela effect. Speaker 5 00:19:15 Yeah. Where did the red Speaker 4 00:19:16 Hood come from? I don't know where that came from. Disney. I don't know. Maybe Speaker 3 00:19:19 Was she a red head? Speaker 4 00:19:22 Uh, no, but Speaker 3 00:19:24 Maybe a little red is referring to her and then the right. Maybe Speaker 5 00:19:27 She was had red hair Speaker 4 00:19:28 Or something and I'm sure I'm sure that in the later versions that somewhere, Speaker 2 00:19:33 Danny, Danny, please tell me you're not urinating. Speaker 5 00:19:36 Is that the Speaker 2 00:19:37 Bathroom? Danny? Are you urinating Speaker 3 00:19:40 Bro? No, bro. I'm Speaker 2 00:19:41 Not you're urinating. Speaker 3 00:19:42 <laugh> I'm not urinating. I Speaker 5 00:19:44 Hear, I hear the tinkle Speaker 4 00:19:46 Turn around, turn, turn around in the camera right now. Prove it. Oh my God. Dan. You are urinating <laugh> oh Speaker 2 00:19:53 My, my God. Can you take care of that before we start the podcast? Speaker 3 00:19:57 Wow. Speaker 5 00:19:58 Yeah, it makes me want to go to the bathroom. I have Speaker 2 00:20:00 To go. We literally have to look at the big screen and watch you urinating. I mean you are hiding your jump, but seriously, bro. I'm sorry. Awkward. Go ahead Jen. Speaker 3 00:20:10 Yes, please continue. Jesse. Speaker 4 00:20:12 Um, I guess in some of the, um, in the later versions, that little red riding hood actually kills the Wolf mm-hmm <affirmative> um, there's in the next version. Apparently the, she pushed the Wolf into the house, caught on fire. They set it on fire. Um, and little red riding hood pushed the Wolf into the burning building as he was preparing her grandmother's flesh to be eaten. I don't, they're pretty dark stories. So that's what I got it. I don't, I didn't look to see at what point did the story turn into more of a kid's fairy tale and where the, where the red hood got introduced and stuff, but the changes from, I don't know, I guess the last 200 years or there's nothing, it's not even close to the original story. So Speaker 2 00:21:06 I know the, the version of little red rot hood has been redone and remade and uh, turned around by a lot of different people. I actually, um, went and saw a play called petite Rouge, which is sort of a Cajun version of little red riding hood. I'm not surprised. Yeah. I'm not surprised. It's actually really cool. But um, Speaker 3 00:21:27 Petite Rouge Speaker 2 00:21:28 Pet petite Rouge. Yeah. It's actually a play that comes around every once in a while. There's a book, obviously it's based off of a book, uh, regarding a Cajun version of little red Ru hood. But so the story's been told and told, but probably not quite as creepy as Jesse's grim grim version. Well, Speaker 3 00:21:46 It's a little grim Speaker 4 00:21:47 There's there's like break offs of the story where, you know, a where the Wolf is actually a malevolent spirit dressed in the skin of a Wolf that, and that spirit rapes little red riding hood. And it, it is, there's some very dark stuff with little red riding hood, which I never, I never connected those dots. So, uh, I'll go with Disney's little red riding hood. Speaker 2 00:22:17 What do we know about, uh, what do we know about the Yakov and off, uh, what was that grand? Speaker 3 00:22:25 What him? I, I feel like, well, Speaker 2 00:22:28 Like what do we know? What do we know about their background Speaker 3 00:22:31 Here? Here's the interesting thing about this is that they, okay. So they went through some turmoil and things like that, but they did not create these stores. So these were, well, let me say what we best we know is that they were, they were, uh, aggregating these stories into a book. Uh, that was actually a question I came up is where did the original versions of these come from and what was the moral to be learned or the lesson to be learned, um, from those particular stories. But as near as I can tell, they did not dream up these stories. They just aggregated them into one book and there's a little bit of controversy behind it, um, about, uh, you know, some people are tying in their attempts to preserve the culture to, um, kind of long game, uh, um, you know, what, what happened with the Nazis and things like that. But it's, again, these guys, from what we can tell were not the originators of the story, they just put them together in a book and share them with the rest of the world. <laugh> this, this, this episode is very grim. Speaker 4 00:23:39 It is grim. Yeah. Speaker 2 00:23:41 Yeah. Uh, what did you, what did you come up with Tom? Well, Speaker 5 00:23:44 I didn't really come up with one particular story. Mm-hmm <affirmative> I, I just, I found three stories that were from the original versus what we see today. Mm-hmm <affirmative> I thought was kind of fascinating and scary and freaky, Speaker 2 00:23:56 But in all fairness, what the homework was to do one, one story Speaker 5 00:24:00 Just where does this do that? Just pick one. It doesn't say that on our homework. Speaker 2 00:24:03 Just pick one story and Speaker 5 00:24:05 That doesn't say that on our Speaker 2 00:24:06 Homework. It does. You Speaker 4 00:24:08 Got excited Speaker 5 00:24:09 <laugh> oh, I guess it does. It's your favorite? Favorite? Well, okay, well group, I'll go. I'll go with, I'll go with sleeping beauty group. Think this one was Speaker 2 00:24:17 Interesting. Discuss Grims fairy tale on this Lauren dark street. Alright. Favorite Grims fairy tale. I saw your favorite rim. Fair tale to read a break. Anyway, go ahead. But you've got three. That's good. I got three. Okay. Bless your heart. Go Speaker 5 00:24:28 Ahead. Oh my God. Speaker 4 00:24:30 <laugh> oh boy. All to change Speaker 5 00:24:33 Sometimes. So we all, we all know what the, the I'm gonna pick sleeping beauty. We all kind of, we all know the Walt Disney sleeping beauty version of sleeping beauty, right? Speaker 2 00:24:43 Yeah. Speaker 5 00:24:43 Yes. Okay. Um, the original 17th century adaptation story, Speaker 2 00:24:51 I guess, which version of Disney's sleeping? Beauty because the principal longer kisses her Speaker 5 00:24:57 Because you're talking about Speaker 2 00:24:58 Male essential. Speaker 5 00:24:59 It's not Maleficent. Yeah. Yeah, no, I'm not talking about that one. I'm talking about Speaker 2 00:25:03 No, no animated version. No, they they've changed it because the prince can't kiss the princess without her consent. Speaker 5 00:25:09 Okay. All right. Well, I'm talking about <laugh> Speaker 4 00:25:13 My God. How about, so that definitely did not Speaker 5 00:25:17 Happen. We read the political correctness out of Speaker 2 00:25:19 This episode. That that didn't happen. I'm just saying Speaker 4 00:25:21 I'm pretty sure that that wasn't a requirement when Graham wrote this story. Speaker 2 00:25:25 No, clearly not. Speaker 4 00:25:26 I'm I'm interested to find out what happened in the original story. Speaker 5 00:25:29 Well, the original story. Yeah. The original story was, was, uh, titled sun, moon Talia, and begins the way, you know it today. Prince Tallus is, uh, condemned upon birth that have her finger pricked by a splinter. So we all know that part. Speaker 4 00:25:49 So it wasn't even called Speaker 5 00:25:50 No, it was called sun moon Talia. Wow. Speaker 4 00:25:53 Okay. Speaker 5 00:25:55 So, uh, so she pricked her pricked by a splinter, which will send her into an eternal slumber. Her devastated father Le uh, lays be be beyond beloved daughter to rest in a, uh, velvet chair and vows to leave the castle and never return. The story goes pear shaped from there. Um, no, the princess isn't awoken by a true Love's first kiss. Instead, a king from a nearby kingdom happens to stumble upon the abandoned castle where he lays eyes upon the sleeping beauty for the first time and is so seduced by her good looks. He rapes and Speaker 4 00:26:42 Impregnates her. Oh my God. Sweet Jesus. <laugh> I know something like that was gonna happen. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, while still, uh, uh, while still asleep, the princess gives birth to the two twins, son and moon. Uh, one of which searching for breast milk sucks. The splinter out of the mother's finger and breaks the evil spell. Oh my God. That is pretty ground. That isn't that crazy. Speaker 2 00:27:11 That's insane. That's Speaker 4 00:27:12 Disturbing to say the very least. So yeah. The Disney version is, uh, definitely way better. Yeah. You think, um, changing the fact that the prince kisses, a sleeping beauty, they have issues with that little along with the original list. Yeah. Go, go with the original and yeah. Right. Seems crazy. Oh yeah. That's I'm so does anybody know that, that when these stories were actually, if those were actually kid stories, like the, in the 18 hundreds, did people go out and buy this book and be like, oh, well, some, some people believe that some of these stories go back like 6,000 years, six to 8,000 years. Oh. So they were being told even before the French English, Italian languages. Wow. So I mean, way back. So I mean, yeah. How does, how do Grims like, you know, there's some old lady traveling, she's like, let me tell you the story about sleeping beauty, you know, you're you were like, this would be, this is a, I tell my I've told my kids this and, and I tell my grandchildren this story, this would be great for Speaker 3 00:28:23 Your mom. And there's a great lesson. Yeah. <laugh> and I feel, and I feel like it happened exactly like that. Yeah. Speaker 4 00:28:29 Don't don't go to sleep. Speaker 3 00:28:37 Yeah. This is, this is awkward. Speaker 4 00:28:39 <laugh> oh my goodness. Well, you picked the subject. Speaker 3 00:28:43 I, I just refreshed it. I feel like it was out there and we were talking about it as a potential and it's like, oh yeah, that sounds cool. But now it's like, holy shit, what did we just get into? Speaker 2 00:28:55 <laugh> you, you, you can resurface this and make this episode happen, but you can't make a paranormal beans. Episode happen, Danny Speaker 3 00:29:02 <laugh> well, yeah, because I, I, you know, so here at Speaker 4 00:29:06 This Speaker 2 00:29:06 Point, oh, speaking of, uh, speaking of introductions, Rob is actually a little bit late, but uh, in the studio tonight, Rob, Hey, Speaker 3 00:29:15 <laugh> Speaker 2 00:29:17 Anything new Rob? No, Speaker 3 00:29:20 <laugh> <laugh> Speaker 4 00:29:22 Okay. Moving on. Speaker 3 00:29:23 Good talk. Good talk. I love our talks. Speaker 4 00:29:26 So the real, the Danny, the, the real question. Thanks for that, Rob. The real question is how did Walt Disney get away from they're like, Hey, let's do some movies on Grims fairy tales. And then, you know, like now they're like, oh, you, you can't do that. Because back in the day that guy was racist or whatever, how'd they how'd, they get away with like, oh, let's do a story on sleeping beauty when the original Speaker 5 00:29:55 Story is yeah. Rape and Speaker 4 00:29:56 Yeah. Is just completely not appropriate. Speaker 3 00:30:01 Yeah. I feel like we've, I feel like we've ruined people's shout enough. On this episode that we start pulling on that string. <laugh> Speaker 4 00:30:10 Right. Speaker 3 00:30:10 That's gonna, we're just gonna cause anarchy that's Speaker 2 00:30:13 What's I'm just really hoping that no, I'm just really hoping that no children were listening to our campus episode. Just ruined a lot of Christmases for the little jovial chaps. Speaker 5 00:30:25 Now I dunno if, if they made a movie out of this one, but, uh, the darkest story and that was, you know, beauty and the beast or, uh, not beauty and the beast, but the, uh, sleeping beauty. Wasn't the darkest Speaker 4 00:30:36 Of well Speaker 5 00:30:37 Dark, well, darkest story. Speaker 2 00:30:38 Yeah. Speaker 5 00:30:40 There's another one called the Robert, the Robert bride groom. Speaker 2 00:30:44 That was mine. Was it really? Speaker 5 00:30:46 Yeah. Oh, okay. Go, Speaker 2 00:30:47 Go for it. No, no, no. We're going around the table. Speaker 5 00:30:49 Oh, Speaker 4 00:30:50 Okay. Oh, he wants to be lion Speaker 2 00:30:51 Mr. Mondo. Speaker 1 00:30:53 Hi Speaker 4 00:30:55 That Rob you it's appropriate since he's sitting naked and Rob's seen, Speaker 1 00:30:59 Yeah. What can I say? Just the wobbly bits are all over his seat and Speaker 4 00:31:04 <laugh> Speaker 2 00:31:05 Little Rob is gonna have to do some intensive cleaning after Mondo sat there. Speaker 3 00:31:10 That chair, that chair, Speaker 5 00:31:12 Usually Speaker 2 00:31:13 It's Jesse's Speaker 5 00:31:13 Chair, but it's Jesse's chair. Speaker 2 00:31:15 It's Rob's. Speaker 3 00:31:16 Oh, got it. Speaker 1 00:31:17 It just, it just feels so right. I'm sorry. Speaker 2 00:31:20 Oh, no, that was way too much information TMI. What do you got? Uh, what do you got? Speaker 1 00:31:25 Well, mine that I chose, uh, was Rapunzel mm-hmm <affirmative> um, the, everyone knows of course the Disney adaptation of it, you know, the princess and all this other stuff, but it actually was not a princess that was kidnapped. It was just a regular family. And it had to do with lettuce, uh, Speaker 5 00:31:48 Lettuce. Speaker 1 00:31:49 Yeah. The, I believe it was called Rapunzel lettuce and the mom got sick, had a hanking for it. And it was like a lettuce or a cabbage, something like that. But it was some type of green leafy substance, Speaker 5 00:32:03 Probably cabbage. Yeah. Be my Speaker 1 00:32:05 Guess. I say the devil's lettuce, but Hey, Speaker 2 00:32:07 It was actually ramp beyond, but Amon, Speaker 3 00:32:09 But <laugh>, Speaker 2 00:32:11 Who's, who's guessing. Speaker 1 00:32:12 Exactly. Um, but uh, what happened was, was that they would, the father would go and he would take the lettuce from, Speaker 2 00:32:22 Uh, Ram prion Speaker 1 00:32:23 Pitch posh. Um, he would take the lettuce unknowingly from, I believe she was like a sorcer or something like that. And, uh, the sous caught on said, Hey, you know, if you don't stop, I'm gonna do something bad and he didn't stop. So she took the child and, uh, the whole prince thing came in when, you know, the prince heard her singing and he was very intrigued by her. Well, unlike the Disney adaptation, the, I believe Speaker 2 00:33:01 He was intrigued in another way Speaker 1 00:33:03 In more ways than one. But, um, the Disney adaptation is she locked her away in the tower and all that, which it did happen, but rather than keeping her there, she took her to the desert and left her there. The, when the prince came up and tried to visit as only the brothers grim can do their visitations. Um, the child Rapunzel was no longer there. And he jumped out of the tower into a Bush, you know, and it was a thorny Bush. So he went blind because it punctured his eyes. So he wandered aimlessly until he found her. They kissed. And I, I don't know what happened after that. Speaker 2 00:33:54 I can tell you what happened after this Speaker 4 00:33:55 Time. <laugh> Speaker 1 00:33:56 Well, I revert back to the only fans for the rest of it, but, you know, just, just putting it out there, but yeah. Um, it was, it is completely different from the Disney adaptation. Um, but yeah, I, I don't know. It's Speaker 4 00:34:12 That doesn't sound anything like the original story mm-hmm Speaker 1 00:34:14 <affirmative>, you know what I did, what I could with what I had Speaker 3 00:34:18 <laugh> no, none of, none of them do though, I guess. No, Speaker 1 00:34:21 Not Speaker 3 00:34:21 Really. I, I should say, I should say the original versions that maybe we were introduced to. Right. <laugh> yeah. But yeah. Geez. Speaker 2 00:34:29 The clean American versions. Speaker 1 00:34:31 Exactly. I prefer those. Speaker 2 00:34:33 Yeah. Well, thank you for that Mondo, Danny, what do you got for us, bro? Speaker 3 00:34:37 Oh, geez. Well, okay. So <laugh>, I feel like mine is kind of, uh, not so dark. I mean, kind of as compared to wait, what <laugh> as compared to, uh, some of the ones you guys have shared, but anyway, I picked Rumple stilt skin, which I think as far as I can tell is fairly benign compared to some of these. So Rumple, stilt skin is the story of, uh, a Miller. And of course my computer just shut off <laugh> with my notes. Where's my notes. Speaker 1 00:35:13 Uhoh Speaker 3 00:35:15 I didn't have any notes. Um, but the it's the story of a Miller who, uh, tells the king that his daughter can spin straw into gold. And so of course this catches the king attention. He says, I wanna see this, you know? And so, um, the king demands that the Miller bring his daughter in the, in the senses that this Miller was maybe just bragging about it. And so the king is like, yeah, I want to know, I want you to bring her here and make her do it. So he locks her in a room there in the castle and demands that by morning, she has this straw spun into gold, right? So the daughter breaks down crying and all of a sudden this, you know, drink, drink, drink, sound happens. And this ugly man creature thing shows up and ask her what's wrong. And she says, well, I've been told this, been strong to golden. I can't do it. So he says, you know what? I can do that for you, but you're gonna have to give me your necklace. So, okay. Um, so it decides, oh yeah, I can do that. That's fair enough. Speaker 2 00:36:21 I can do that. Doesn't wanna get, but you're gonna have to do a little something some for me. Yeah. Speaker 3 00:36:25 What, it didn't go that way. It didn't go that way. And at least the, at least the latest version, right? Rumble, stills. Speaker 2 00:36:34 I read, I read, I read, haven't read of that. I read the wrong version. Speaker 3 00:36:37 <laugh> yeah. Okay. So at this point it was a necklace. And so she says, yes, here's my necklace. He does this thing. Boom. There's a bunch of gold inside the room. So of course the key comes in the next day and it's super happy. Thank you for all the gold. Do it again. <laugh> so the next day he takes her to a bigger room, more straw and demands that she does it again. So he locks her in the room. She starts crying again. This little poof cloud shows up and here's the same ugly man saying, Hey, what's wrong? And she said, well, back at it again. And so I says, okay, well, this time I'll do the same thing, but you're gonna have to give me your ring. Okay. Here's a ring, da, da, da. Um, so he does his little thing, poof, and there's a bunch of gold. So of course now King's happy. Speaker 2 00:37:32 I gotta say, I, I really enjoy the sound effects. So you have it going Speaker 3 00:37:35 Little bit poof. <laugh> oh, oh, you just wait. It's gonna get better. Speaker 2 00:37:38 Oh, sweet. Okay. It's all Speaker 3 00:37:39 There. Speaker 2 00:37:40 <laugh> it's the only thing that's holding. My attention is your amazing sound effects. Speaker 3 00:37:45 Yes. Thank you. It' gonna get better here. I don't know how I'm gonna do it yet, but it's gonna get better. So of course, uh, King's happy the next day and oh, by the way, the king says, if you do it again, he had said this before the second time he would marry her. So comes in the room's full of gold and he decides, yes, I'm gonna marry you. I'm gonna make you my clean peasant <laugh> and they get married. And of course he's like, but you know, I want you to do it again. <laugh> so, and he locks her in the room again. And this time, poof, poof here goes the cloud of smoke. Um, after she's crying. Yeah, there you go. I should make it more dramatic. And then here comes the ugly man and she she's. Okay. And it's a huge room. Speaker 3 00:38:31 It's like, it's like, uh, screws, McDuck size vault in the basement of straw. And uh, so of course he's like, well, this time there's a lot more, you're gonna have to give me your first born. <laugh> so, wow. So she agrees to this and turns it into gold off. It goes, right? So a year later everybody's happy. And all of a sudden she is with child and this is her first born. So of course now this ugly man shows up and wants to collect and she starts crying, breaks down, says, I don't want to do this. And he makes her a deal. He says, you know, how about this? Speaker 3 00:39:16 If you can guess my name within three days, you can keep your child on all the gold. And then our deal is Nu void, right? So she of course agrees to that. And she rallies the troop. She gets the people in the community and says, Hey, I need everybody to go out there and figure out the most random names that you can come up with and bring those back to me. So day one, he shows up and says, is it, this is it, this is it, Bob, is it Joe? Is it Tim? Is it tab? Is it Jesse? Is it Scott? Is it Mondo? Rob? Speaker 2 00:39:50 None of those. I see what you did there. <laugh> Speaker 3 00:39:53 See what I did there. I see Danny, none of, none of those names. So he comes back the second day and she's got all this, you know, list of names again from people. And this time, you know, she guess for the most unique names out there. So some of the names like B strip and mutton calf and leg string, those were the names that came up at the time. I don't make these things up. I just share 'em okay. So <laugh> Speaker 2 00:40:19 <laugh> look how animate Gandy is. He's really into this. Isn't he's he's worked up, he is worked up he's into this. I loving it. Go, Danny. Something bad's gonna happen. Great. Yeah. Yeah. He's building up this. No. Speaker 3 00:40:33 Yeah. Just wait for it. The Cindo is coming. Um, so of course he's like, no, no, no, no, no. And so then, uh, of course you move on to the next day he shows up and he's very cocky, very arrogant, kind of struts in and says, all right, Speaker 2 00:40:49 Kinda like Jesse, Speaker 3 00:40:50 This is the final day. <laugh> yeah, this is it. This is the day you've got to decide. Come up with my name. Well, what he didn't know is that the queen had sent out. One of these people that she had sent out was wandering deep, deep into the woods. And she comes across this guy, this ugly man in the woods. And here's him singing a song and the song goes a little, something like this. Speaker 2 00:41:15 Oh, we're gonna hear music. Oh, music can Speaker 3 00:41:19 Today bake tomorrow brew. They all fresh. The Queen's new child. <laugh> it is good. It is good that no one knows Rumple still skin is my name. Speaker 2 00:41:32 What? How did I do what an idiot Speaker 3 00:41:35 <laugh> yes, yes, yes. Speaker 2 00:41:38 He knows. He knows everybody's out to get his name and he is singing a freaking song on, so the morals bold not to Bo boast. So he's not a real bright guy. Yeah. Not a real bright Speaker 3 00:41:49 Guy. He's not very, not very, Speaker 4 00:41:50 That sounds like something Scott Speaker 3 00:41:51 With you. I picture him. Bless you. I picture him doing this with the corn cop pipe, you know, just sitting there with this corn cop pipe and kind of just, Speaker 4 00:42:00 Yep. Speaker 3 00:42:01 Anyway, <laugh> so of course this person goes back to the queen has say, Hey, I saw this old guy. I don't know if this means anything but FYI. So she's like, that's gotta be him. So day three, he shows up, you know, he is struting in and she gives him a couple names. Well, is it, you know, is it UB? Is it Villa him? And he's like, Nope, Nope. And then she says, is it Rumple, stilts skin? And apparently he turns into a big fit of rage and ah, God, you know, just had to, and Speaker 2 00:42:34 She's like, that's right. Meltdown Speaker 3 00:42:38 My drop. Speaker 2 00:42:39 Boom. What now? Speaker 3 00:42:40 <laugh> yeah. So apparently he validates that that's his name and he gets so pissed off that he stomps his right foot halfway through the ground, grabs his left leg and splits himself in half the end. Speaker 2 00:42:57 What Speaker 4 00:42:58 That's gonna wow. Speaker 2 00:43:00 Gotta work on the ending. You gotta be a pretty badass motherfucker to splits theirself in half Speaker 3 00:43:06 <laugh>. Yeah. Speaker 2 00:43:07 Or, or, or pretty upset. Oh yeah. Wow. Wow. Speaker 4 00:43:11 Just because, so there you go. Just because we found out his name, he kills himself really? Just Speaker 3 00:43:16 Because Speaker 2 00:43:16 Yeah. And why didn't he just say, why didn't he just say mm-hmm no. Speaker 3 00:43:22 Yeah, no. How would she, how would she validate? Yeah. Speaker 2 00:43:25 Yeah. How would she, I would just be like, no, mm-hmm Nope. Not, uh, my Speaker 4 00:43:30 Name Speaker 3 00:43:31 It's Speaker 4 00:43:32 So if we can guess Scott's name, then he has to live himself from now. Speaker 2 00:43:39 Oh, don't think I can't do it. <laugh> I I know. Uh, Mondo did we do Mondo? Yes, we did. You already? Yep. All right. Speaker 4 00:43:46 You're the only one that hasn't gone. Speaker 2 00:43:48 I did the, uh, Robert Robert bride groom. And, uh, this was also a Miller Danny. Uh, I, but I did my homework. Do you have any idea what a Miller is? Uh, there was there once was a Miller who had one beautiful daughter. Okay. Speaker 4 00:44:06 So before you tell the story, what is this story actually called the day Speaker 2 00:44:12 The, oh, it's it hasn't changed. Oh, it's no, this haven't haven't made a movie or done relatively obscure. Okay. Yeah. The Robert bride groom Disney. Hasn't gotten their Mitz on it yet. Uh, the mill, a Miller, uh, any guesses on what a Miller is? Speaker 4 00:44:28 Somebody that somebody that a Speaker 3 00:44:29 Miller, a it's like a manufacturer, it's a person that makes things like a, like a lathe almost. Speaker 2 00:44:36 Uh, the Miller is a large Brawny man known for his prowess as a wrestler. Hmm. The Miller. Speaker 6 00:44:45 So he hangs out at the Tavern. Speaker 2 00:44:46 Yeah. Okay. He was Speaker 6 00:44:48 Like, in my twenties, Speaker 2 00:44:49 <laugh> uh, the Robert Bri groom is essentially a story of, um, this Miller who has a beautiful daughter and she became of age. I'm not sure exactly what age it is that you become of age 12 married, but probably nine. Um, so he back then back then. Yeah. Back then. So he was like, Hey, I got a beautiful daughter. Someone needs to take care of her. I'm done with paying for her bills at nine, nine years old. Uh, so this, uh, Speaker 3 00:45:19 <laugh>, Speaker 2 00:45:20 He, he essentially said, I'm gonna give her to, he loved her so much. He's like, I'm gonna give her to the Matt first man that comes looking forward. Oh geez. So a suitor comes along and he is not a very attractive guy. And uh, the dad says, okay, you'll do so he, uh, he, um, he Bero her, Bero her Speaker 3 00:45:43 Bero Speaker 2 00:45:43 Okay. I assume that means you give their hand in marriage or something. Anyway. So with Speaker 3 00:45:49 Excitement Speaker 2 00:45:50 Apparently. So she's like, yeah, dad, I'm not really digging this guy. He's kind of creepy and old and all that stuff. And not really my, my kind of guy. And he is like, well, Hey, I be brothered you to him. So, you know, Hey, Bero you gotta goros whatever. Uh, so they are together, but he lives deep in this creepy forest. And she's never even been to his house before she still lives with dad. And so finally the guy that he was brothered to the, the creepy guy was like, Hey, when are you gonna come home? When are you gonna come and visit? Since we're like married and everything. And she's like, ah, I'm not really comfortable with it. I don't even know where you live. And he is like, oh, I live deep in that really creepy, creepy forest. Like in the middle of the creepiest forest in town, my house is right there. Speaker 2 00:46:36 So she's like, okay. And he is like, well, Sunday, you gotta come over Sunday. Cuz I invited all of the relatives and big families coming over and we're gonna have a barbecue and everything. And she's like, all right. So she she's a little freaked out going in the woods. So he's like, Hey, if you can't find it, I'm gonna leave a trail of ashes. Just follow the follow the trail of ashes. And it'll take your right to my little Casa. And she's like, okay. So she goes out into the creepy woods and she finds this, uh, Ash trail and she's like, well, I'm afraid that he is gonna kill me or something or something bad's gonna happen. So I'm gonna throw some peas and cucumbers and carrots and stuff out. So I can find my way back. I don't know why she just didn't follow the Ash trail back. But she decided to throw it Speaker 3 00:47:17 Raccoons back in the day or Speaker 2 00:47:18 Something. Yeah. So she decided to throw some peas down. So she gets to the house and is super creepy, you know, handsome and Greta looking creepy house in the middle of the woods. And she goes in and nobody's there. It's just dark and still. And um, she, she goes in and she hears this turn back, turn back, young fair maiden linger. Not in this murderous layer. Ooh, but that bird, that, that was impressed. I know it didn't really sound like a bird that was bird back young FA not, is this bird say that's more like a bird, I guess, I guess the first one wasn't very birdlike. So she's Speaker 3 00:47:57 Bra bra. The first one was a lot Speaker 2 00:47:59 Better. Was it? But it didn't sound like a bird. Yeah. Speaker 3 00:48:01 But still Speaker 2 00:48:02 I realized haw, birds sound like I, it gave Speaker 3 00:48:06 Turn back, Speaker 2 00:48:06 Turn back. Confirm ma not Speaker 3 00:48:09 This way. Speaker 2 00:48:10 <laugh> I could see that. I could see that. Okay. I like the third version version first. The first one I was like, that's kind of sounds like a creepy guy, but I supposed to be a bird. So you maybe should have practiced. I, I got to that part of the story and I was like, oh, now I gotta do a bird impression. Speaker 3 00:48:25 <laugh> Speaker 2 00:48:26 So she's like, she ignored it. You know, this bird is telling her, this is a murderous layer. Big on nobody's there it's super creepy. So what does any normal person do? She decides to explore the house after being worn by the bird. Speaker 3 00:48:39 Oh, of course. Speaker 2 00:48:40 Yeah. So she goes, uh, she goes and, Speaker 3 00:48:42 And in, in fairness, Scott, in fairness, that's what we do, right? Speaker 2 00:48:46 Well Speaker 3 00:48:46 That's Speaker 2 00:48:47 Not Scott. Yeah. Speaker 3 00:48:48 <laugh> so she, Speaker 2 00:48:49 She must be investigator and not the brothers investigator. Speaker 3 00:48:52 Yeah. Speaker 2 00:48:54 Uh, so what does she do? It's super creepy house. She decides to go to the basement. Oh nice. Oh, I know. Yeah. Yeah. So have an, an addict too. End of court. It had an attic too. And of course in the middle of this creepy basement, there's a caldron and this creepy old lady standing next to the caldron going, hello? My fair maiden. What are you doing here? And she's like, oh, I'm supposed to meet my husband. You're supposed to be here. Who are you? And she's like, oh, you gotta leave here. They're all murderous, creepy people. You gotta leave. When a witch is warning you, you gotta go. You should probably <laugh> probably get on off out of there. Speaker 3 00:49:30 You should probably Soo. Speaker 2 00:49:31 Yeah. Like I'm like, Hey, this witch is gonna put me in her kettle and eat me. But no she's telling me to leave. I'd be like I'm out. Yeah. Speaker 3 00:49:38 So Speaker 2 00:49:38 She run turns and runs. No, no she doesn't. She just kind of hangs out with the witch. Oh, Speaker 3 00:49:42 Oh, oh. For the Speaker 2 00:49:43 Love of God. And uh, you know, just kinda like, well, I don't know. I'm supposed to marry the guy and the witch is continuing to warn her. Like I'm telling you, these people are murder. Speaker 3 00:49:52 God Speaker 2 00:49:52 S they eat girls. They bring 'em here every night in these girls. She's like, I don't know. You know, my dad really wants me to marry him and everything. Speaker 3 00:50:01 It's true. Love. Speaker 2 00:50:02 It's true. Love. So they hear people upstairs. She's like, the witch is like, oh my God, you gotta hide behind the caldron. Cuz I've been trying to get outta here too. They're not very nice to me. So hide behind the caldron. So is, I wonder if she's the cook? Well just wait. Oh. Oh, you're getting okay. Hold on. Okay. You're getting, Speaker 3 00:50:21 Hold, hold your horses. Speaker 2 00:50:23 Yeah, I'll get there time. Okay. So she hides behind the cauldron and these big burly. They're not even Millers. They're like beyond Millers. They're like huge. They're they're they're robbers. Big, scary robbers. They're Speaker 3 00:50:40 They're not Miller light. They're like Miller, regular Miller. Speaker 2 00:50:43 Yeah, yeah. Yeah. So they come down and said, Hey, where's our dinner. And the one robber behind HIMS, like I got dinner and he's got this girl. And uh, they throw her on the table and they start cutting her up and eating her. And they even pour salt on her. It's very descriptive about how they chop up and eat this girl. And so the, the bride is hiding beyond the Coldron going, cuz she's seeing all of this stuff. So they're eating and eating and eating. And then this is where it gets kind of scary. So they're eating, I'm scared. And one of the robbers notices this beautiful gold ring on the girl that they just ate on her finger. So he takes a Cleaver chops off the hand, the finger. So the finger goes up in the airlink lands right behind the cauldron where she's hiding. Speaker 4 00:51:37 Of course it did. Speaker 2 00:51:38 So the robbery gets up and he's like, Speaker 4 00:51:39 We not bring. Speaker 2 00:51:42 And the bride is hiding behind the caldron going, oh, I hope he doesn't come behind the cauldron. So anyway, so he's looking, looking, Speaker 2 00:51:51 So the witch comes to a rescue and says, oh, don't look behind the cauldron. You guys are still hungry and here's your wine? And he's like, oh, okay. She's like, you can look for it tomorrow. And the Robert's so stupid. He's like, yeah, I'll just look tomorrow. So they sit down the wine, make a long story short. The witch gives the, the guy's wine. They all pass out her and the old witch take off, running into town. She tells her dad the story, the next day is supposed to be the wedding. So everybody comes to the middle of town for this woman to get married to this guy. And they're all telling stories. They all have a story to tell and they come to the woman and, and they're like, what story do you want to tell? And she's like, I'm gonna tell you about a dream that I had. So she tells this whole story to the whole town and the town's just, and she's kinda like taking her head going like nodding towards a guy. Speaker 4 00:52:42 <laugh> like, it's him, Speaker 2 00:52:43 It's him. But nodding her head and like, so anyway, so, uh, and then she gets to the point about the ring and then the, the robber was like, oh, but that was just a dream. But that was just a dream. And then he points at her and she sees the ring and she's like, and that's the ring. And then the whole townspeople grab the robber and they hang him by a tree and they all happily ever, Speaker 4 00:53:15 Ever Speaker 3 00:53:16 After. Speaker 2 00:53:17 Yeah. So that's my story. Speaker 4 00:53:19 So do you have that? Did you print that story? I did. So can I get a copy of that? Speaker 2 00:53:24 I, you wanna see if it was accurate to my, no, Speaker 4 00:53:26 I wanna read it to my kid when I today when I get Speaker 2 00:53:29 Okay. Speaker 4 00:53:29 Yeah. Here you go for bedtime story. Here you go. Here you go. Speaker 2 00:53:33 Uh, wow. Yeah. So that was, uh, that was a Robert Bri groom. Speaker 0 00:53:39 Wow. Speaker 4 00:53:42 I can't wait. I can't wait for Disney to put that movie out. Speaker 1 00:53:45 Oh, I wait, how Speaker 4 00:53:46 Did they, Speaker 2 00:53:47 How did they change it, it, you know, the, the interesting thing about it though, reading it is, it had so many seems similar to so many of the different grim tales, Speaker 3 00:53:58 Right? Speaker 2 00:53:58 Like it really seems similar to Speaker 4 00:54:00 Right. Speaker 2 00:54:01 Uh, Hansel and G griddle, for example. And you know, some of these Speaker 4 00:54:06 Lot of witches. Yeah. And eating people, lot Speaker 2 00:54:09 Of wood, but this witch turned out to be good. Speaker 3 00:54:12 Hmm. Yeah. They exist apparently. Speaker 2 00:54:14 Yeah. Speaker 3 00:54:15 And someone said, thank God earlier. It's thank God. S okay. Thank God. When we're talking about witches. Yeah. When we're talking about witches. Speaker 2 00:54:22 Okay. You guys ready to, ready to move on? Yeah, Speaker 4 00:54:26 Let's do Speaker 3 00:54:26 It. Yeah. Let's, let's move on Speaker 1 00:54:31 In a quiet town. In a small studio. It's Northwest curiosity. Society's movie review. Speaker 7 00:54:52 I'm GLE. And this one here is my brother. Speaker 8 00:55:03 Tell me the fairy tale again. Speaker 7 00:55:05 It's too scary. You know, start seeing things that aren't fair. Speaker 9 00:55:11 You've been turned out of your home, set out to film for yourselves with only your clothes and your Heights. Speaker 7 00:55:20 I'm hung. Speaker 8 00:55:21 I'm hungrier than you are Speaker 7 00:55:22 Because you're a pig. Speaker 0 00:55:28 It smells of Speaker 10 00:55:43 Careful with that. Dear. I'd hate for you to start something. You can't stop. Speaker 0 00:55:50 Please Speaker 7 00:55:50 Make your equations. I'm called Gretto and this rough one here is my brother Hansel. There's something wrong here, but it's so pleasant. Where are all the animals and where does she draw milk? Speaker 10 00:56:15 That's a storm coming. This is your power to see what has Speaker 0 00:56:22 Hidden, meant to take it. Speaker 10 00:56:30 We were given the same gift, the same magic. This is left is to make him delicious. Speaker 2 00:56:57 All right. Gretel and Hansel. That was a dark team. Speaker 3 00:57:01 Yeah. Very, but should we not be surprised at this point? Right? <laugh> Speaker 5 00:57:08 Yeah. I thought it was pretty good. What'd Speaker 2 00:57:10 You think I had a hard time getting into it? Actually, Speaker 3 00:57:12 I have to go first. Speaker 5 00:57:13 No, no, Speaker 3 00:57:15 I have to go first. Speaker 5 00:57:17 We could just discuss the movie as a group. Speaker 3 00:57:20 Yeah. Uh, I, I, I have to go first. Uh, I did, uh, I'll just throw out and say from my perspective, anyway, I did think it was a little slow maybe. Yes. But it was, I think it was, uh, I, I, I, I can't say that it didn't like it. I finally watched it. I, I did attempt to watch this once before and I fell asleep, but, um, but I, I think in the end it was kind of a, Speaker 5 00:57:45 It was a letdown at the end, Speaker 3 00:57:47 For sure. It was a little bit of a letdown. I think I was expecting a bigger, um, you know, ending. Yeah. Speaker 5 00:57:54 With Alice, with Alice CRI the, the former Borg queen, you would think there would be a better boss battle. Speaker 3 00:58:00 <laugh> right. Exactly. That is a great way to put it. <laugh>, you know, it was not very epic <laugh> and uh, you know, like you got a brand new witch, that's like, oh, and here you go. And now you're dead, by the way. <laugh> so, yeah, I, I thought it, I mean, I, I was entertained by it. Um, you know, the storyline didn't drift away much from, you know, from, I guess the most recent version of this that we know Hensel and Gretel, but, um, the acting, eh, it was okay. I, I do think that we need to make the little snort, our new greeting. So every time we see each other, yeah. We have to push our foreheads together and, and do the piggy snort. So that's my 2 cents. Speaker 2 00:58:43 <laugh> well, thank you for that. So I only made an hour in, so tell me what happened at the end. Oh, Speaker 5 00:58:48 You fell asleep. Speaker 2 00:58:49 It's a six hour movie. Isn't it? Speaker 3 00:58:51 There was, there was only 30, more minutes left. 24 minutes left. Speaker 2 00:58:55 I tried, I tried watch, I tried watching it and then I woke up and I'm like, uh, damnit, I watched it, it like, I'm not starting over. I watched it for about the first four hours and Speaker 3 00:59:05 <laugh> lost, Speaker 2 00:59:07 Uh, it was dark, man. It was dark. I don't mind dark movies, but it was really dark. Right. Like dark, dark, like literally dark. Everything was dark about, it Speaker 5 00:59:18 Was just a dark forest, dark area. Yeah. And, and I, all the Illuminati kind of references that were in it. Did you guys pick up on that? Yeah. She looked in the window and it was like Speaker 2 00:59:28 The, the all seeing eye. Speaker 5 00:59:29 Yeah. In the shape of the house being a triangle mm-hmm <affirmative> and right. Um, there was one other reference at the beginning. It was a, there was a rectangle black rectangle. I can't remember if it was a, a campfire Calder in holder or something like that, but the way they showed it, you know, like a tripod mm-hmm <affirmative> mm-hmm <affirmative> so, yeah. Speaker 3 00:59:51 Did any of you find yourselves wondering what you would do if you were in that predicament, that making that decision of, to get that whatever that power is, all you have to do is eat your brother <laugh> or am I the only one? Speaker 5 01:00:08 <laugh> are you asking me three weeks guys, if we would do that, Speaker 2 01:00:13 I'd eat some, did you did Speaker 3 01:00:16 Eat some bowl. He eats a all Speaker 2 01:00:17 I'd eat some all Speaker 3 01:00:19 <laugh>. Speaker 4 01:00:20 Well, if it was, if it was Dave, we could totally that kill Dave. There Speaker 5 01:00:24 You go. Now, there you go. The one thing I didn't really catch was is that what they were eating in the beginning yeah. I mean all the food. Was that actually just a, a hallucination? Speaker 2 01:00:37 No, it was pies made with humans. Is that what, like all pies that were eating Speaker 5 01:00:42 Were no, but when she kinda woke up from that, all she saw was like raw rotten. Speaker 2 01:00:47 Fresh. Yeah. They were Roten she was realizing it. Yeah. She was realizing it. Speaker 5 01:00:51 Yeah. Okay. Cause didn't Speaker 2 01:00:53 Kid, because didn't the kid like biting to a finger or something and the witch is all, oh, don't pay any attention to that. Speaker 3 01:00:58 Yeah. Like, oh no. Here let me have another piece of your hair. Speaker 2 01:01:02 Yeah. Like there was, there was a whole lot of red flags. I, I think like in the beginning, before they started like figuring it out, there was like, all these red flags would be like plucking the kids here and then smelling it. I'd be like, I'm out. Speaker 5 01:01:14 <laugh> Speaker 3 01:01:15 Well, well let's, let's start with the first red flag where the mom's like, you gotta move out. <laugh> Speaker 5 01:01:21 Right. Speaker 3 01:01:22 No, it's time. Just take your brother and good luck. Have a great life. Speaker 2 01:01:27 Yeah. We don't have, don't have enough food for everybody. So we're going to eat. You guys gotta go fend for yourself. Speaker 3 01:01:34 <laugh> yeah. Speaker 5 01:01:35 The good old days. Speaker 3 01:01:38 <laugh> the old, the olden days. Speaker 5 01:01:41 Yeah, the olden days. Speaker 3 01:01:43 Yeah. Speaker 2 01:01:43 I, I was extremely disturbed with the whole witch pulling the hair outta her mouth. Oh. Yeah's like one of that's like one of my, my biggest gag reflex things was having a piece of, so the whole time they were doing, I was like, Speaker 4 01:01:57 <laugh> Speaker 5 01:01:59 It wasn't just one hair. It was like lack of hair. Speaker 2 01:02:02 Yeah. She like kept pulling out like a magician's pulling like a napkin or like, you know, out Speaker 5 01:02:08 Their, I thought it was a piece of twine at first, Speaker 2 01:02:10 Seriously. Speaker 3 01:02:11 And then at the end she's like, she's like China, Speaker 2 01:02:14 Right? <laugh> oh my God. That was horrible. <laugh> Mondo. Would you say Mondo's gonna Speaker 1 01:02:20 Hurl? I think he's getting <laugh>. Speaker 2 01:02:24 What'd you think? Mondo? Speaker 4 01:02:27 Did you watch the movie? Speaker 1 01:02:28 I found it quite disturbing. Um, when the witch was pulling Speaker 2 01:02:32 The, he didn't watch it Speaker 1 01:02:33 Hair out of her Speaker 2 01:02:35 Mouth. Typical. He's sitting a Rob seat Speaker 1 01:02:37 All over the place and it was, yeah, it was Speaker 4 01:02:40 Disturbing. And the finger, the finger part. Where you Speaker 2 01:02:43 Been, what about the, what about the car chase scene? Speaker 1 01:02:46 <laugh> no, the car chase didn't really do it for me. Yeah. It was more the, uh, yeah. I don't know now how'd they had, you know, more Mopar in it. That would've been more for me. Okay. But unfortunately they went with Mustangs. Speaker 2 01:03:00 Yeah. Yeah. The Mustangs. Yeah. Speaker 3 01:03:02 But did they, did they have to put, did they have to put Airwolf a night rider in there? I mean, that was just awkward. Speaker 1 01:03:07 Yeah. I mean, I, I, it was a mishmash of all kinds of other weird stuff. I, I, I thought sea Wolf would've been in there, but I apparently not. Speaker 3 01:03:15 David Hasselhoff made a cameo. Speaker 1 01:03:17 Yeah. You know, the chest hair and everything. Speaker 2 01:03:19 It was beautiful. The battle scene was epic. Speaker 1 01:03:21 Epic. No, it wasn't Speaker 3 01:03:23 The five rings or Speaker 1 01:03:24 Whatever. Yeah. When the cling orange came in, it, it was, it was, it was a great battle. It was, it was awesome. Did you, Speaker 2 01:03:31 Did you give your 2 cents? Yeah, Speaker 4 01:03:33 I already Speaker 2 01:03:33 Did. You did. Okay. Speaker 4 01:03:34 I watched an hour of it. I, if I had known it was only 20 more minutes. I, Speaker 2 01:03:39 So, so this is what I did. So it was, it was disturbing for me. And I was I'm home by myself cuz Tricia's outta town. So I was watching it last night and I got, I got a little scared. Did you really? Yeah. I got a little scared. So afterwards I had to watch something. So I chose a cartoon and on Netflix they have a, a series called Speaker 3 01:04:03 Grim fairy tale, Speaker 2 01:04:04 A tail, dark and grim. And so I watched the, I watched the same version of what I just watched, but a, uh, a different version. Yeah. Speaker 11 01:04:16 Once upon a time, two children, Hansel and Gretel lived with their mother, the queen and their father, the king. Speaker 12 01:04:24 They were a happy little family. Speaker 11 01:04:27 Wait for it. Speaker 13 01:04:30 Whoa, whoa. You can't tell that part story, William. There are kids out there. Speaker 11 01:04:38 You probably think, you know their story. Speaker 13 01:04:41 I don't think you do not the real story Speaker 12 01:04:45 Hansel we have to get out of here. We are going to find better parents. Perfect parents. Speaker 13 01:04:52 I just love Speaker 11 01:04:54 Chill. Speaker 13 01:04:57 You need to know this is about to get in appropriate. Speaker 11 01:05:02 Once upon a time Hansel and Gretel set out on a daring quest, will Speaker 12 01:05:06 It be an adventure that I can promise? Speaker 11 01:05:10 Excellent. Hello children. Speaker 12 01:05:16 This is fine. This is fine. Fine. Fine. Speaker 14 01:05:20 Whenever she says this is fine. It never is. Does she know what that word means? Speaker 12 01:05:26 What if you've lived through a lot? That just means you've really lived. <laugh> you smell like burnt hair and hot chimney. Oh. Oh, thank you. Can we do this? I don't know, but we'll figure it out together. This Speaker 15 01:05:44 Is not. And if I think it's not going, wow. Right. Speaker 12 01:05:53 We can help you you'll need this magical key. Uh, it looks like a chicken bone. We know magic is weird. Speaker 2 01:06:07 We should have watched that. Yeah. Speaker 12 01:06:09 Better. Speaker 2 01:06:10 I was, I was actually able to sleep after that. Speaker 5 01:06:14 <laugh> Speaker 2 01:06:15 Wow. But it's a, a Netflix series that follows SEL and Gretel. And then what I didn't realize was I just thought that it was gonna be like an hour long SEL and G griddle, but it was like 30 minutes, but uh, it's a whole series. So it falls SEL and Greta through all these other grim fairy tales. So there're like the lead in all these other different Grims so yeah. It's actually actually kind of cool. Um, Speaker 5 01:06:38 Do you guys remember the TV show? Grim? It was filmed here in Portland. Yeah, Speaker 3 01:06:43 I do. I was gonna go try and be an extra on that, but I missed the time they wanted to like security bouncer kind of guy. Speaker 5 01:06:50 No, I never, Speaker 3 01:06:51 I missed a Speaker 5 01:06:52 Tryout. I never got into the show. But was that based on Grims fair fairy tales? No. Or any of the characters from the stories? No. No. Had nothing to do with has nothing to do Speaker 2 01:07:02 With what we're talking about though. Okay. Speaker 12 01:07:04 Thanks Speaker 5 01:07:05 For that. I didn't get into the show, but I just figured with it sharing the name. Grim. It Speaker 2 01:07:10 Was pretty grim. All right. You guys ready to move on? Yes. I've got a, I've got a quiz of one and I have to always hide. Oh Lord Jesse. Speaker 12 01:07:17 Oh boy Speaker 2 01:07:18 Sheets all the time. This is our grim a Grims fairytale quiz. A yes sir. Speaker 12 01:07:24 No, Speaker 2 01:07:24 The answer's a, oh, it's one. Speaker 12 01:07:26 Jesus. Speaker 2 01:07:27 I'm gonna take off my hat. All right. It's fine. I'm taking off my hat. All right. Gross fairytale quiz. Uh, you guys should know this because I corrected you during your, uh, lettuce story. Speaker 5 01:07:41 Okay. He did. Speaker 2 01:07:41 All right. What? I don't remember what, what VE I gotta hide it because everyone looks, what vegetable was Rapunzel named for. It was the vegetable stolen by her father Speaker 12 01:07:54 Marijuana. Speaker 2 01:07:55 Um, no, it's not the wacky weed. Speaker 3 01:07:57 It was uh, Speaker 2 01:07:58 Not the devil's lettuce. <laugh> Speaker 3 01:08:02 For, for forward. Speaker 2 01:08:05 Very close Danny Speaker 3 01:08:08 Or Mahey. Speaker 2 01:08:10 Um, that's not, that's not a vegetable radish, not radish. Is it a radish? Two rapini Speaker 4 01:08:20 Rapini Speaker 2 01:08:21 Three Ruda, Bega or fee four, five PO Ramon Speaker 4 01:08:28 Ruda, Ramon Ruda, Bega Speaker 3 01:08:30 Rua hub. Ramon. Speaker 2 01:08:32 It is Ramy on good deal. Oh Speaker 4 01:08:34 My God. See, I was right Speaker 2 01:08:37 In the Wolf. This is sad that I have to hide things like this from you guys. It's Speaker 4 01:08:41 Just can't see. Know what you're talking about. Speaker 2 01:08:45 You were just looking over my shoulder, man though. Speaker 4 01:08:47 Jesse, come on. Now. A bunch of Speaker 2 01:08:48 Cheaters in the Wolf, scared in the Wolf. In the seven little kids, six young goats are eaten by the big, bad villain. How does the story end? Speaker 4 01:08:58 The Wolf and something? I Speaker 2 01:09:00 One, the mother goat dies of anguish three and the Wolf eats her two. Speaker 4 01:09:05 Number three. Speaker 2 01:09:06 I haven't even gotten three yet. Okay. Two, the Wolf becomes remorseful and cuts his stomach. Open three. The Wolf's stomach is cut open by the kid's mother and stuffed with rocks or four, a hunter continually kicks the Wolf, causing it to throw up each kid Speaker 4 01:09:20 3, 3, 3, 2, 3, Speaker 3 01:09:23 The Wolf, the Wolf cuts open his own stomach. Speaker 2 01:09:26 Negative. The Wolf's stomach is cut open by the kid's mother and stuffed with rocks. Speaker 4 01:09:31 Ha. So what number was it? Three. Three. Perfect. Which it's like you knew Speaker 2 01:09:37 Which of these titles is not a title of one of the Grims fairy tales. One Dr. Noal Speaker 4 01:09:44 Gold. Speaker 2 01:09:46 Uh, that's not one. Okay. Uh, two, the four clever brothers three, the pink or four Jack and the bean stock. Speaker 4 01:09:54 Oh Speaker 3 01:09:55 Jack. And the beans Jack and the be stock Speaker 2 01:09:57 Jack and the be stock is not a grim fairytale, Speaker 4 01:10:01 Not dark enough, true Speaker 2 01:10:02 Or false at the end of, at the end of little red cap or what we know is little red ready hood. The main character meets another Wolf and doesn't speak to this one, but she and her grandma cook up a way to kill it. True or false, Speaker 4 01:10:18 False, false, false. That Speaker 2 01:10:20 Is true. That is true. Uh, in the original, this is the last one. So I mean, I have a lot more, but we're pressed for time here. So in the original fraud prince, in the original fraud prince, what does the princess do to the frog? Instead of kissing him, kicked Speaker 4 01:10:36 It, eats it whole. He eats him, he eats Speaker 2 01:10:42 One steps on him. Two eats his leg in soup, three, throws him against a wall or four returned him to the pond from where she found him, threw him against Speaker 4 01:10:53 The wall, Speaker 3 01:10:54 Wall, legs and soup. Four legs and soup. Speaker 2 01:10:57 Uh, no, the correct answer is throws him back in the pond legs against the wall. Speaker 4 01:11:02 Yes, no. Yeah. You throw, throw frogs against the wall. Yeah. That's the thing, you know, just, just take 'em and Chuck 'em against the wall. So Speaker 2 01:11:08 I mean that's what Speaker 3 01:11:09 Normally is any, is anyone else sad after this episode? Nope. <laugh> Speaker 2 01:11:14 I'm hungry. Speaker 5 01:11:15 Childhood Speaker 3 01:11:16 Brewing. I'm hungry. Yeah. Geez. Anyway, Speaker 4 01:11:24 I'm gonna get, Speaker 3 01:11:25 I'm Speaker 4 01:11:25 Gonna start. So 200 stories. I can, I should be able to get my kid through all those in the year. Speaker 3 01:11:32 Oh yeah. You could do one every night. Do one of those. Do one of those year, little punch card things. Speaker 4 01:11:37 Dad, tell me about, uh, tell me the little red riding hood story. Oh, okay. Son, what Speaker 5 01:11:43 Version you do? Would you like to hear Speaker 2 01:11:44 Tonight? This was not on the schedule, but we're gonna do a surprise thing. This one is for Jesse hundred, one ways to kill Dave ways to kill Dave. One ways to kill Dave. Speaker 3 01:12:10 Okay. Speaker 5 01:12:13 On Speaker 2 01:12:13 Reread. Speaker 3 01:12:14 We did that. We did that loop thing Speaker 2 01:12:16 101 ways to kill Dave. Speaker 3 01:12:18 Oh boy. This is funny. Speaker 5 01:12:22 We'll have to cut that out. Speaker 3 01:12:25 Yeah, no, let's leave it. Let's leave it. Speaker 2 01:12:27 He go, but Speaker 5 01:12:28 Just play that over and over. And Speaker 4 01:12:30 Yeah. Dave, Speaker 5 01:12:31 Dave will just die. Speaker 4 01:12:32 I don't think we should do a kill Dave segment. This, this, uh, episode is so dark to begin with. But since we are, Speaker 2 01:12:39 Is gonna be an editing fucking nightmare. <laugh> Speaker 4 01:12:47 Oh God, the sound Speaker 2 01:12:49 Board is, uh, Speaker 4 01:12:50 It just has a mind of its own. Speaker 2 01:12:51 Yeah. Speaker 3 01:12:53 Yeah. Turn on the spirit box. Speaker 2 01:12:55 Go ahead. Speaker 4 01:12:56 <laugh> so, okay. So we take him out to our secret cabin in the dark dark woods and lock him in there and feed him flash of kids for a year. And then until his hair has grown to like two feet long, you know, his back hair is super long and everything. And then we cook him in a big, you Speaker 5 01:13:22 Mean, wait for Speaker 4 01:13:23 The Molet yeah, wait for the mullet. Then you cook them in a big pot. And we all sit around the table and eat 'em and then eat them, eat some whole, and then after we're done eating, we just start pulling huge locks of hair that are like two feet long of our mouth, Speaker 3 01:13:41 You Speaker 4 01:13:42 Know? Speaker 2 01:13:48 Okay. Speaker 4 01:13:49 So yeah. Might Speaker 3 01:13:50 As well make and then wait, and then what, Speaker 2 01:13:52 And then we eat Speaker 4 01:13:53 Some, then we eat some Speaker 3 01:13:54 And then we eat some whole <laugh> Speaker 2 01:13:58 By the way, we, uh, we do have an audio, uh, recording in our soundbites of Dave giving approval for Speaker 3 01:14:06 The authorizations. Yeah. Speaker 5 01:14:07 Yeah. We're Speaker 2 01:14:08 Authorized that. So just so anyone knows we're Speaker 4 01:14:11 Authorized to eat em, whole, you guys, Speaker 2 01:14:13 He Speaker 5 01:14:14 It, and Speaker 3 01:14:14 This is just I'm down with that. Yeah, Speaker 5 01:14:15 This is, this is just for fun too. Speaker 4 01:14:18 I'm all in. Speaker 3 01:14:20 Oh, I all in <laugh>. Here we go. Oh, okay. Yeah. Speaker 17 01:14:27 I am down for the new, uh, kill Dave segment. Speaker 2 01:14:30 Okay. Speaker 5 01:14:30 Thank you Dave. Thanks, Dave. Speaker 3 01:14:33 All right. Thanks Dave. Yeah. Thanks. Thanks for that. See you in a couple hours. What Speaker 2 01:14:37 Or not? Okay. You guys, uh, you guys ready to move on? Speaker 5 01:14:42 Let's go. Speaker 2 01:14:57 Northwest curiosity. Society brings you Speaker 0 01:15:01 What the was that Speaker 2 01:15:09 This sound is brought to us by tab. Speaker 5 01:15:12 I've got actually a couple of them. Speaker 2 01:15:14 Let's uh, Speaker 5 01:15:14 This part and I wasn't sure what the rules were, but, um, one, I know what the sound is and the other one I do not. Okay. It's unexplained. Speaker 2 01:15:23 Okay. Um, Speaker 5 01:15:25 Well we'll play. Just play, play. We'll Speaker 2 01:15:27 Play both all. This is the first sound. What, what do you guys think? This is again, the explanation of this is that to be true. Paranormal investigators have to use all your senses. Speaker 4 01:15:36 Oh, Speaker 3 01:15:43 I'll let, Speaker 4 01:15:44 I'll let, uh, Danny and Mondo go. Yeah. Speaker 3 01:15:49 I'm oh boy. I almost feel like it's a modem, but I wanna say it's a frog. It's a frog. Speaker 1 01:15:56 Not a frog. I'm gonna say, I wanna say a Raven. Speaker 3 01:16:02 Holy crap. That sounds like a monkey. That's a monkey. Speaker 1 01:16:06 Nah, that's a Raven or a Crow. Speaker 3 01:16:12 Is this the same sound? Is it the same? Yeah. First sound. Okay. Sounds like. Okay. It's a bird. It's a bird. Um, shit. Speaker 1 01:16:33 Now I'm gonna, I'm still gonna say it's a Raven or a throat. Speaker 3 01:16:36 It's a cock tube. Speaker 2 01:16:39 Watch your mouth. Watch your mouth. Speaker 0 01:16:41 <laugh> Speaker 3 01:16:42 Cockatoo, Speaker 4 01:16:43 Man. Got it. Speaker 5 01:16:44 Got Speaker 2 01:16:44 It. Got it. It was a, Speaker 5 01:16:45 It was a bird. So you were close Danny. It Speaker 2 01:16:47 Was a Raven. Speaker 3 01:16:48 Yeah. <laugh> oh, wow. Speaker 5 01:16:51 I thought that one was fitting for the group. Speaker 2 01:16:52 I Speaker 3 01:16:53 Think we should do an episode by the way on Speaker 5 01:16:55 Just turn your screen off. Ravens. Just turn that screen off. Can't you do that? Speaker 4 01:16:59 So is that gonna be our Speaker 2 01:17:00 Official Speaker 4 01:17:00 Mess it up? Is that gonna be our official, um, our official sound. Now it should be, since we have a Rav, Speaker 2 01:17:07 Here we go. Next. Speaker 4 01:17:20 I'm gonna guess that's Dave, as we're eating them whole Speaker 2 01:17:25 <laugh> Speaker 1 01:17:27 Seems like me when I'm waking up in the morning. Speaker 3 01:17:33 Mm Speaker 4 01:17:36 Scott. On his first bathroom trip in the morning. Speaker 19 01:17:40 <laugh> Speaker 4 01:17:47 I don't know what that is, but that would totally creep me out. Speaker 2 01:17:51 Any guesses Speaker 1 01:18:00 I'm gonna, Speaker 4 01:18:02 I'm gonna say sky Speaker 3 01:18:08 It's. Uh it's uh, acapella killer. Well acapella. Speaker 5 01:18:13 Well, you know, unfortunately on this one, your guess is as good as mine because I hear chains. It's it? It's supposedly a, a grave site at, in Iran underground. Speaker 2 01:18:32 That's that's noises coming from underground. The grave. Speaker 5 01:18:35 Yeah. It's like a hollow grave. Speaker 1 01:18:38 That's pretty creepy, Speaker 5 01:18:40 But I don't know. I mean, that could totally be edited and Speaker 4 01:18:43 Okay. So if it's, if knowing that I'm gonna guess somebody got buried alive and they're down in there. Speaker 2 01:18:52 So knowing what the sound is, you're gonna take a guess at what it's Speaker 3 01:18:55 A grim is. It's a grim fairytale, Speaker 5 01:18:56 Or it could be a dungeon under the graves. Speaker 4 01:18:59 Well, Speaker 5 01:18:59 Have someone down there chained up and they're moaning and in pain and agony. Once Speaker 2 01:19:04 Again, I, you guys, uh, you guys ready to move on? Yeah, let's do it. Let's do it. Speaker 3 01:19:09 Wait, what was it? Speaker 5 01:19:10 What that Speaker 2 01:19:11 Wasn't me. It was a strange sound coming from underneath a grave in Iraq or Iran. Speaker 3 01:19:17 Ah, okay. Speaker 2 01:19:18 You guys ready to move on? Speaker 5 01:19:20 Let's do it. Speaker 2 01:19:23 Uh, we have a musical interlude sticking with our Grims fairytale. Mondo is going to perform little red riding hood. Anytime you're ready, brother, Speaker 5 01:19:36 Is this gonna be clean or Speaker 2 01:19:38 This is a clean, scary version of air version. Yeah, Speaker 1 01:19:46 Who's it. I see walking in these woods. Why it's little red riding hood, the Hey little red riding hood. You should are looking good. Yo, everything, a big, bad Wolf could won little red riding hood. I don't think a big girl should go walking in. The spook was alone. What big eyes you have the kind of eyes, the drive wills, man. So just to see that you don't get chased. I thank God to walk with you four ways. What? Full lips you have the shoe Toure, someone bad. So before we get to grandma's place, I hope you see things just my way going. I'm going sheep suit on till I'm sure that you've been show that I can be trusted to walk with you little. I'd like to hold you now if I could, but you might think I'm a big, bad Wolf. So I won't what big, hard I have. Hold the bad. Just to love you with little red riding hood. Even bad wolves can be good. I'll try to keep satisfied just to walk close by your side. So before we get to grandma's place, I hope you these see things just my way, little red riding hood. You should, uh, looking good. Your everything that a big, bad, Speaker 1 01:22:21 I mean bad. Speaker 3 01:22:44 Nice. Thank you, Mando. <laugh> Speaker 2 01:22:48 Thank you for that. Amazing as you've worked. Speaker 3 01:22:50 Wow. He said Dean enor. I said, Dean enor, Speaker 20 01:22:56 We interrupt this program to bring you a special report. Speaker 4 01:22:59 El Paso, El Paso, El Paso, Texas Speaker 3 01:23:03 El Paso. You USA. Speaker 2 01:23:05 Isn't that where Danny is? Speaker 4 01:23:07 Yeah. That's where I guessed. I think nice Speaker 1 01:23:10 In sand something, Speaker 4 01:23:12 You Speaker 1 01:23:13 Know, Speaker 4 01:23:14 We, this was just within the last, uh, 12 hours had a fire at the de Soto hotel in El Paso. The reason this one is so interesting is because according to the local investigator, it's the crown jewel of paranormal in Texas. And the story goes that there is a malevolent Speaker 2 01:23:40 Spirit what's that on Speaker 4 01:23:41 A died on a died spirit. Speaker 3 01:23:44 How's that again? <laugh> Speaker 4 01:23:46 Malevolent spirit that, uh, back in the day, set the building on fire with people in it. Um, and then mysteriously in the middle of the night, the building caught fire and it just looking at the photos and everything. It wasn't just a small fire. This, it was it's a, Speaker 2 01:24:07 So it's Speaker 4 01:24:08 Gone. Well, I don't know if it's completely gone now, but it's a multi-story hotel abandoned hotel and it's definitely, there's a big fire going on. So Speaker 3 01:24:17 Sounds like Zuzu, Speaker 4 01:24:20 Zo, Speaker 3 01:24:22 Zo, Zo Zu, zoom, zoom. Speaker 4 01:24:25 Be careful. How many times you say his name? Speaker 2 01:24:27 Yeah, Speaker 1 01:24:28 I say Speaker 3 01:24:28 Homeless. Oh, sorry. You Speaker 2 01:24:29 Think I, I believe, uh, ghost adventures did an episode there. They, Speaker 4 01:24:34 Yeah, it was, uh, Speaker 3 01:24:35 Screw those guys. Speaker 2 01:24:37 What? Whoa, Speaker 4 01:24:38 Whoa, Danny. Yeah, Speaker 1 01:24:40 They animosity. Speaker 4 01:24:42 So the, it was Speaker 2 01:24:43 Featured in that Speaker 4 01:24:44 Bro. 15 of ghost adventures. They, they went in there. Um, Speaker 1 01:24:49 Dam's fighting words. Speaker 4 01:24:50 They were trying to, so apparently on this one, they're still trying to determine the cause of the fire and damage and how much damage there Speaker 2 01:24:57 Was. But what if it was Zach and he was possessed and didn't know he did it Speaker 1 01:25:04 <laugh> Speaker 4 01:25:06 But that is a possibility. Speaker 2 01:25:08 Oh, okay. Speaker 1 01:25:11 Also as far as man man Speaker 2 01:25:12 Caused, well, thank you are on the spot reporter, Jesse. We appreciate that. Thank you. Hopefully, Speaker 4 01:25:18 Hopefully the building is thank Speaker 2 01:25:20 You for all your Speaker 4 01:25:20 Hard work. Not lost. Speaker 2 01:25:22 Yeah. Are you guys ready to ready to move on? We got one more segment and we're wrapping up this long lengthy episode. Speaker 4 01:25:28 Let's do it. Speaker 3 01:25:28 Mm-hmm <affirmative> Speaker 1 01:25:33 Get rid of that one. Shutter in fear at the sounds of fright, Northwest curiosity, society fights, what goes bump in the night, greetings and welcome to haunted hot spots. Speaker 2 01:25:58 I want to take us to, um, Eastern Oregon. Uh, we've discussed this a little bit, but I definitely think we need to plan a trip here. I wanted to talk real quickly about, uh, mall your Butte, um, which has long boasted, a secret history of which is practicing dark magic as well as strange creatures who appear in the dead of night to keep visitors away. Some people consider them imps or nips, or what do they call those things? Little like imp imps Speaker 4 01:26:26 Imps on UN a died Speaker 2 01:26:28 Nips. <laugh> uh, anyway, the, uh, the dark history of Mallory blue, but goes back, um, literally hundreds of years, if not thousands of years, uh, because Maller Butte is actually a dead volcano. Not a whole lot of people know that because it's not really a large mountain, but more like a, more like a Butte. Um, Speaker 4 01:26:50 That's the name? Maller Butte. Speaker 5 01:26:53 Would that be on the way to Wolf end? Speaker 2 01:26:55 No other, other side. Speaker 4 01:26:57 Not even close to, Speaker 2 01:26:58 Yeah. Other direction. <laugh> um, sound Speaker 5 01:27:01 Like I have a map in Speaker 2 01:27:02 Front of me. It was a, it was a hotspot for native Americans too. They would use the, they would use the Butte to, uh, to go up and look as a, essentially a lookout point for people coming in covered wagons so that they go go down and scalp 'em or whatever they do. Um, so there was a lot of, lot of deaths. It goes back to a long history with, uh, witches using that, um, celebrating their dark, a cult practices covens would regularly meet at that location. And, uh, Speaker 3 01:27:31 Are they dark though? Speaker 5 01:27:34 I don't know. That's a good Speaker 4 01:27:35 Question. Is that <laugh> is that a possibility of the, the reason that cows show up missing with their ERs? Speaker 2 01:27:42 Yeah. So Speaker 5 01:27:43 Are we talking melanin or Speaker 2 01:27:44 It's uh, it's good that you bring that up, Jesse? No, because, uh, the Mallar area there is, is a notorious hotspot for cattle mutilations. Yeah. Actually not, not too far from Mallard Butte. So, uh, could be witches practicing their witchcraft, uh, could be aliens, could be anything, but I definitely think, well, I guess we need to have somebody do a little bit of research on it because it's, to the best of my knowledge, Mallard Butte is a privately owned, um, piece of property. And I think that it's, it's cut off from general public going onto Mallard Butte, but there's, uh, all kinds of strange occurrences that happen there. It might be interesting to maybe take a road trip there. Speaker 3 01:28:27 Um, you know what I think it is. Speaker 4 01:28:29 What do you think? Speaker 3 01:28:30 The giant, the giant fungus. Speaker 5 01:28:33 Oh, Speaker 2 01:28:34 Ooh. Oh, the fungus Amongus yeah. Speaker 3 01:28:37 <laugh> humongous fungus. Speaker 2 01:28:39 That's that is in that area too. Isn't it? Speaker 3 01:28:42 It is. Speaker 2 01:28:44 Hmm, interesting. Speaker 3 01:28:46 Interesting. Speaker 4 01:28:46 There's a lot of weird Speaker 3 01:28:47 All kinds of shenanigans. Yeah. <laugh> yeah. Let's let's just go around, start eating stuff and see what happens. Speaker 2 01:28:55 Yeah. All right, everybody. Thank you for joining us on this episode of Grims fairy tale. Thank you, Jesse, for being in the studio. So early in the morning, I know it's difficult for you to get outta bed out about 11 o'clock or so yep. Tab. Thanks for being here. Mondo. Thank you. You're so much, very much for all of your musical talents and doing our yeah. Intro and little red rot hood. That was amazing, Danny. Uh, I'm sorry that you've been evicted during the process of our, uh, podcast and have had to do the remaining portion of the podcast from your car, like a hobo. Yeah. But, uh, we do certainly appreciate you being here and, uh, our next episode. Thanks, Speaker 21 01:29:36 Rob Speaker 2 01:29:36 For, yeah. Thank you Ralph, for being here. Speaker 21 01:29:42 <laugh> Speaker 2 01:29:43 Our next episode, I believe is gonna be on the strange occurrences of the glitch in the matrix. Uh, so, uh, hoping that everybody can join us for our glitch in the matrix episode. And hopefully soon after that, we will have our historic paranormal beans episode, which Danny is mm-hmm <affirmative> is working on currently. Uh, Speaker 21 01:30:05 So I wanna save it for episode 50. Speaker 2 01:30:07 That's gonna be a big one. Maybe we should we'll do that. And we'll do it live from a HANA location as well. Speaker 21 01:30:12 Five. Oh, I'll love it. Speaker 2 01:30:15 Thank you everybody. And until next time, Speaker 21 01:30:18 99. Bye. Bye. Speaker 2 01:30:39 Goodnight, everyone have a magical day.
