Show Notes

After a short hiatus, NWCS Into The Dark returns from the shadows with a brand-new episode titled “Spirits at Sea.” In this eerie voyage, we chart a course through the haunted waters of maritime legend, exploring ghostly ships, cursed voyages, and the restless spirits said to wander the decks of vessels long lost to the deep. Though we set sail with a clear heading, the winds of conversation have a way of pushing us off course now and again… and before long we find ourselves drifting into strange waters and unexpected tales. So hoist the lantern, mind the creaking timbers, and join us as we chase the dark legends that haunt the seas, there may even be a shenanigan or two along the way.

[00:02:16] Speaker A: Howdy. [00:02:18] Speaker D: Oh, wow. [00:02:20] Speaker A: Tonight we set sail into the supernatural seas where the waves whisper, the decks groan under ghostly weight, and some ships never really reach port. Welcome to NWCS into the Dark. And tonight's episode, Spirits at Sea, where haunted holes and phantom sailors rule the dark sea. Oh, excuse me. All right, everybody have their. Everybody have their notes. Should I leave this going the whole time? [00:02:53] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:02:54] Speaker A: Because I kind of feel like we're on a boat. I feel like we're on a boat. [00:02:58] Speaker D: Yeah. Hey. [00:02:59] Speaker C: Getting seasick? [00:03:02] Speaker D: I put a patch on them. [00:03:04] Speaker A: All right, Danny, what do you got? [00:03:08] Speaker B: I gotta go first. [00:03:10] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, you got. [00:03:10] Speaker B: What are we gonna do? Anything new? Is anything new up today? [00:03:15] Speaker D: Anything new? [00:03:16] Speaker A: Anything new at our group? [00:03:20] Speaker B: No, no. I guess there's nothing new, so. Okay, well, just get right into it. [00:03:26] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:03:27] Speaker A: Danny, our last podcast episode was about 11 minutes ago, so. [00:03:32] Speaker B: You mean a week ago because we [00:03:34] Speaker A: still in the studio. We're still in the studio. [00:03:37] Speaker D: We do them about a week or 370 days apart. [00:03:46] Speaker A: All right, what do you got for us, Danny? [00:03:51] Speaker B: Well, have you guys heard the story of the ghost of the SS Valencia? [00:03:57] Speaker A: I have not. [00:03:58] Speaker D: Neither have I. Yeah. [00:04:01] Speaker B: This is apparently a story that took place in 1906 somewhere in the Pacific Northwest off the coast of Canada. Does that count as the coast of the Pacific Northwest in any instance? [00:04:18] Speaker D: I would say so, yeah. [00:04:21] Speaker B: This was. This was. So this ship was a passenger steamer, the SS Valencia. It was apparently. Apparently struck a reef and sank, killing over a hundred people. Some survivors reported seeing ghostly figures and hearing cries for help from the shipwreck site long after the disaster. Some also claim to have seen the phantom ship reappearing near the site, sinking completely with a spectral. With spectral passengers still clinging to its decks. And nearby indigenous people have also told ghost tales of a canoe appearing in the area during storms and believed to be connected with this tragedy in some way. Yeah, apparently the ship was built in 1882 and it was a passenger steamer. And it was designed primarily for coastal travel, not intracoastal. It apparently occurred in 1906 while traveling from San Francisco to Seattle when it struck a reef near Vancouver Island. Due to a storm, like usual, 108 people on board died, 37 survive. All of them men know women and children were saved. There's a random fact for you. [00:05:48] Speaker A: Fascinating. [00:05:49] Speaker D: Well, that's very, very, very fascinating. [00:05:52] Speaker A: Interesting. [00:05:53] Speaker D: Very interesting. [00:05:56] Speaker B: All right, well, there's my story. [00:06:00] Speaker A: What was the name of that vessel again? [00:06:03] Speaker B: SS Valencia. [00:06:04] Speaker A: SS Valencia. [00:06:05] Speaker D: Valencia, yeah. [00:06:07] Speaker B: It was built in 1882. [00:06:11] Speaker D: I'll go. [00:06:11] Speaker A: And anything more to that, Danny? [00:06:15] Speaker B: Well, you know, other than the spectral figures and kind of in this area again, it was off the coast of Vancouver island when this occurred back in 1906. They did launch lifeboats, but obviously they didn't have enough to save everyone. They also have reports of ghost lifeboats years after the sinking that kind of hover around the area. And this actually led to the construction of more lighthouses there, which is kind of not surprising. I suppose that's why a lot of lighthouses are creating. But referencing back to our lighthouse episode. [00:06:56] Speaker A: Yes, one of my favorites. That was one of my favorites, [00:07:01] Speaker B: especially the fart jokes. That was hilarious. But that's all I got. [00:07:06] Speaker A: That's fascinating, Danny. Fascinating. [00:07:10] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:07:11] Speaker A: Mr. [00:07:11] Speaker B: Rob. [00:07:12] Speaker D: Oh, hi. Yeah, hey. So I have a local story of the Sluts Bay ghost ship. The ghost ship is said to emerge silently from the fog in Sled's Bay, south of Lincoln City. It's believed to be the specter of the ship called Blanco, which wrecked in 1864. Reports from witnesses claim that the ship's crew and supplies vanished and the vessel itself was cracked in two. [00:07:42] Speaker A: Cracked in two? [00:07:45] Speaker D: Two pieces. [00:07:46] Speaker B: Cracked in two. [00:07:50] Speaker D: The remnants of the Blanco were occasionally visible until the mid-1960s. That's it. [00:07:57] Speaker A: Well, that's it. [00:07:58] Speaker D: That's it. [00:08:00] Speaker B: Wow. [00:08:03] Speaker A: Fascinating. [00:08:04] Speaker D: Okay, I got another local one if you want then. [00:08:07] Speaker A: Sure. Tell us about your other local one, the well lammeter. [00:08:12] Speaker D: The Willamette. The will. [00:08:17] Speaker C: It's Willamette so people can say it, right? [00:08:20] Speaker D: The Willamette river ghost ship, a shadow like vessel is sometimes seen moving along the Willamette River. Identified by keen observers as a lost ship, not just Observers, but keen observers. We're talking sharp, well trained. Well trained observers. Yeah. Its origins are mysterious, but one possibility is the Gazelle. A steamboat that track tragically exploded on April 8, 1854. 1854, near Kanima. [00:08:57] Speaker A: Kanima. [00:08:58] Speaker D: Kanima. [00:08:59] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:08:59] Speaker D: Is that right? [00:09:00] Speaker A: Okay. [00:09:00] Speaker D: I didn't know the punctuation. Okay. The explosion resulted. Resulted in the death of 24 workers. [00:09:09] Speaker E: 24 workers. [00:09:11] Speaker A: 24 workers perished in the Willamette. [00:09:15] Speaker D: Okay. And then many others suffered severe injuries. Witnesses of the ghost ship have described hearing an old fashioned foghorn. Danny. Or seeing a dark silhouette within the dense fog. Some believe the ghost ship is the Gazelle, haunted by the spirits of those who perish. [00:09:40] Speaker A: Can I say something? What a stupid name for a boat. [00:09:44] Speaker D: Gazelle. [00:09:45] Speaker A: Yeah, it's like a. It's like calling a boat the Ford and. Paul. Paul. [00:09:51] Speaker C: So what's the proper name for a gazelle? What is a property. [00:09:54] Speaker A: Proper name. A USS Majestic? [00:09:57] Speaker D: Something like the Peter Iderdale. [00:10:02] Speaker A: I mean, that poor ship. What is it? Gazelle. What is a gazelle? Isn't that. Isn't it like a hot. Isn't it like a hopping deer? A gazelle with a gazelle just has like a deer with horns. Why would you. [00:10:17] Speaker B: Agile deer. [00:10:19] Speaker A: You're at a bar, you're all drunk, and they're like, hey, you gonna join us on the Gazelle, twinkle toes? [00:10:26] Speaker C: The boat is really fast. [00:10:29] Speaker A: Is it just me or is the gazelle stupid name? [00:10:35] Speaker C: It's pretty cool to watch them run. [00:10:37] Speaker D: Yeah. I think that's why they named it the Gazelle. To be fast in the water and streamline and explode. [00:10:44] Speaker A: I got a quick question that makes sense if. If the four of us. Eight. And I want to point that out as well. There's four of us. Rob missed the last 11 episodes. [00:10:55] Speaker D: One. [00:10:55] Speaker C: Right. [00:10:56] Speaker A: Jesse is like incommunicado. Jesse's just like, I don't know. Joey was supposed to be here. I even bribed him with a bubble bath. [00:11:05] Speaker C: That didn't get him here. [00:11:06] Speaker A: Not here. No. That didn't even get him here. [00:11:09] Speaker D: Are we getting bubble bath? [00:11:10] Speaker A: So if the four of us. Because. Because now there's four. There's four of us. Right? I'm just going to put. I'm going to put us in a situation here. [00:11:16] Speaker C: In a bubble bath. [00:11:18] Speaker A: The four of us are in a pretty, like, tough bar. You know, I mean, there's one next door. We've been to some pretty tough bars. [00:11:25] Speaker C: There's one next door. [00:11:26] Speaker A: We've done some pretty. [00:11:28] Speaker D: Pretty shady. [00:11:30] Speaker A: Pretty shady tough bars. Because we're Kind of tough guys. We've got a tough guy. [00:11:34] Speaker C: What was the name of the last one we went to? [00:11:38] Speaker A: I think that was a butterfly. The Rainbow Rider. No, we're. The four of us are in a bar. We're all drinking. You know what we drink, and which one of us. Which one of the four of us is getting shanghaied? Tab. [00:11:55] Speaker B: Four of us. [00:11:57] Speaker C: I'm getting Shanghai. [00:11:58] Speaker D: Yeah, Tabs. Totally in Shanghai. We'd be like, hey, yeah, this is so much. Yeah, this is so much fun, guys. We'd be laughing, and then all of a sudden, we'd be like, hey, wait, where's Tab? [00:12:09] Speaker A: The floor drops below him. [00:12:11] Speaker C: There's just a poof of dust. [00:12:12] Speaker A: I would think that Danny would be the last. The last person to get Shanghai. [00:12:16] Speaker D: Oh, yeah, absolutely. Because he would talk himself out. They would. He would talk because. [00:12:21] Speaker A: A shame. [00:12:21] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:12:23] Speaker A: No, because the shanghaiers would look at him and they'd be like, that would be a big boy to, you know, Shanghai. I mean, I don't know how they technically shanghai somebody. I imagine it's like a club to the back of the head. [00:12:34] Speaker C: Like nowadays. It's probably fentanyl. [00:12:37] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:12:37] Speaker A: But I don't. [00:12:38] Speaker B: But then. But then. [00:12:40] Speaker A: But then Danny wakes up from being shanghaied, and he's like. Because I've. I've jumped on. Do you remember when I tried to shanghai you and Till McDany? [00:12:51] Speaker B: I. I remember that. [00:12:52] Speaker A: Do you remember that? When I [00:12:55] Speaker B: disoriented me? [00:12:57] Speaker A: Yes, I disoriented you with my flashlight. I jumped on your back like a spider monkey, and it still didn't take him down. And then we got, like, four or five other guys. There's people hanging from Danny's legs. [00:13:08] Speaker C: What is on me? [00:13:09] Speaker A: He's walking through the field going. I think Rob even. Rob even jumped on him. Isn't that when you were in your tent? You were in your tent? [00:13:20] Speaker D: We will not talk about that. [00:13:22] Speaker A: We don't want to talk about the tent story. [00:13:23] Speaker D: No, we don't want to talk about that. [00:13:26] Speaker A: I think we should. [00:13:27] Speaker D: I don't know. [00:13:28] Speaker A: This is a short. [00:13:28] Speaker B: I feel like that's not. That's not related to this episode. [00:13:32] Speaker A: It is. It is. You want to know how Danny. [00:13:35] Speaker D: How is it related? [00:13:35] Speaker B: I'm still not hearing about spirits at [00:13:38] Speaker A: sea from you guys because it happened in Tillamook, and Tillamook is at the sea, and there's seafaring haunted vessels that were probably circling us when that stuff happened. And I am. [00:13:50] Speaker D: I am haunted by the tent story. [00:13:52] Speaker A: I do feel I Do feel it's relevant. I do feel it's relevant. [00:13:56] Speaker D: Definitely haunts. [00:13:57] Speaker B: Wow. [00:13:58] Speaker A: So set up, set up, set up the story for us. [00:14:00] Speaker B: Rob, your logic is flawed. [00:14:03] Speaker D: I. This is in Tillamook, and I am haunted by it. So I. I'm going with that, Danny. I. I decided to call it for the evening. [00:14:13] Speaker A: First mistake. [00:14:14] Speaker D: And be being in the environment I was in, under peer pressure. I did not cave to, but I went to bed anyway. [00:14:22] Speaker A: Second mistake. [00:14:23] Speaker D: Therefore, a number of the individuals. I will not say any names. Scott was leading it and decided to try to shanghai me out of my tent. [00:14:38] Speaker A: So we all decided as a group, a large group. Rob was in a relatively small tent. We decided that we're all going to see how many people we could get in his tent. But this is where it gets weird. This is where it gets weird. So I'm like, hey, let's jump in there. And we're gonna. We're gonna rouse Rob. So we all pig pile in there. Bunch of us are in there. We're just all on top of Rob and Danny. Danny jumps in. Danny's the Danny. [00:15:11] Speaker D: Danny was in first. [00:15:12] Speaker A: I jump in. [00:15:14] Speaker D: Danny was in. [00:15:14] Speaker A: Danny jumps on me completely naked. Completely naked. And he's like, hey, am I the only one that's naked? And we're like, yeah, you're the only one that's naked. Please get off of me. This is weird. [00:15:29] Speaker C: Do you remember anyone saying naked? [00:15:32] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:15:33] Speaker B: For the record. For the record, I absolutely recall that being the discussion prior to entering the tent. [00:15:39] Speaker A: Thank you very much. What being the discussion, Danny? What was part of the discussion? Hey, let's all get naked. Do you really think that as a group we would be like, hey, let's all get naked and jump in there? This is where your story. This is where your story doesn't make any sense. Danny. You may have heard that. You may have heard that in your head, but that's not actually what happened. And if we did all agree to go in there naked, how come you were the only one that was naked? Your story makes no sense. [00:16:10] Speaker B: Let me ask you. Because I was the only one willing to do it. Let me ask this question. This is getting weird. This makes no sense. [00:16:18] Speaker C: It's okay, Danny. [00:16:19] Speaker B: It wasn't the first time. It wasn't the first time, and it hasn't been the last time that we've ever talked about something like that. [00:16:26] Speaker C: I take it back. There's more. [00:16:31] Speaker B: I'm just saying, it seems to come up every podcast episode and trip. [00:16:35] Speaker A: I don't think that we've Ever talked about this on podcast? [00:16:37] Speaker C: I think we may have. [00:16:39] Speaker B: No, no, no. Not this specific story, but like, [00:16:43] Speaker A: you getting naked. You getting naked? [00:16:46] Speaker D: Yeah. Yeah. [00:16:47] Speaker A: Okay, well. And [00:16:51] Speaker B: you guys didn't go. You guys. You guys backed out. [00:16:56] Speaker A: All right, back on. [00:16:57] Speaker D: Well, I just want to say, kids, please don't drink. And. [00:17:01] Speaker B: And so that's why. And so that's why Tillamook is haunted. [00:17:05] Speaker A: Right? Right. Exactly. Exactly. Speaking of hauntings, did you guys see that Goonies? That. In what city was it? Astoria? They had a Goonies festival this weekend for the 50th reunion or. [00:17:23] Speaker C: Oh, so the cast was there. [00:17:24] Speaker A: Yeah, the cast was there. And they. They sell. They sell Goonies Police patches there. [00:17:29] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah. Mackie Joseph had one. Oh, is that Macy gun? I mean. [00:17:40] Speaker A: Okay, where. Where are we at, tab? What do you got? [00:17:42] Speaker C: My story is a legend. The legend of the ghost ship Jenny is one of Antarctic's most haunting maritime tales. According to the story, the schooner Jenny became trapped in the Antarctic ice sometime in the early 1800s. Years later, a whaling vessel reportedly discovered the ship frozen solid in the fields near the Drake passage. When sailors boarded her, they allegedly found the crew, perfectly preserved by the brutal cold, still seated in their at their posts. The captain was said to be at his desk, pen in hand, with the final log entry, reading something like May 4, 1823. No food for 71 days. I am the only one left alive. The eerie details. The ship was supposedly found many years after the final entry, meaning the crew had been entombed in ice long after hope was gone. There's no solid historical record confirming the event, and most historians consider the maritime folklore rather than documented fact. But the story persists as a chilling reminder of how unforgiving Antarctic can be be where ships don't just sink. They can disappear into silence and ice. [00:19:03] Speaker A: Wow. [00:19:03] Speaker D: Wow. Wow. [00:19:04] Speaker A: Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow, wow. [00:19:06] Speaker B: Wow. [00:19:10] Speaker A: Danny. Oh, he did. [00:19:13] Speaker B: You want me to go again, Scott? [00:19:15] Speaker A: Oh, what? [00:19:17] Speaker D: What do you mean? Yeah, what do you have? [00:19:18] Speaker A: What do you mean? [00:19:19] Speaker D: You what? What do you have? What's your story? [00:19:23] Speaker A: I gotta go first. [00:19:24] Speaker D: No, you're last. [00:19:26] Speaker A: I chose the USS Hornet, a floating warship and ghost magnet. The world's hottest place in the world. [00:19:42] Speaker C: 99. [00:19:43] Speaker B: Wow. [00:19:44] Speaker A: It was commissioned in 1943 and it's a World War II aircraft craft carrier. And it's been called the most haunted ship in the U. S. Navy, and not just because someone left the mess hall fridge open. [00:19:59] Speaker D: Oh, boy. [00:20:03] Speaker A: It launched in 1943 to its successor, the earlier US at USS Hornet CV8, which was sunk. And I think when we did our original USS Horn Hornet podcast, I remember Jesse saying that it had sunk. But that was the original U.S. hornet. It served in World War II, Vietnam and as part of the Apollo recovery missions. So the Apollo lander would come and splash down in the ocean and the USS Hornet would go and collect the Apollo and the astronauts that were in it. And it was decommissioned in 1970 and now it's a museum ship in. In Alameda, California. To which we have been say what? And so there's been sailor suicides and a variety of wartime deaths. Over 300 people reportedly died aboard the USS Hornet. Yes, during the burn unit during its active duty. Those, those deaths resulted from enemy attacks, flight deck accidents, machinery incidents and a series of suicide, mostly in the engine room, according to the legends. That's a lot of unresolved energy hanging around that ship. Visitors and staff report seeing full bodied apparitions of uniformed sailors doing their jobs like it's still 1944. One ghost is said to yell, get back to work. A spectator spectral supervisor apparently disembodied voices and bangs. People often hear footsteps, voices and sudden bangs coming from empty corridors. EVPs or electronic voice phenomenon recordings have picked up whispering names, commands and even laughter. Tab the ship is known to have doors that open and close on their own. Not wind, not draft. Oh boy. Not wind and not draft. These reported heavy steel hatches slamming shut or slowly creaking open. Often night right before or after sightings. There's a haunted sick bay to which we slept in. [00:22:17] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:22:17] Speaker C: What was the guy's name sleeping next to you? [00:22:21] Speaker B: Mr. Jones. Mr. White. It was Mr. White. [00:22:25] Speaker A: Mr. White. That's it. The ship's medical bay is one of the most active areas. Cold spots, apparitions of medics and even the feeling of being touched or pushed have been documented. [00:22:38] Speaker D: Oh boy. [00:22:41] Speaker A: And the USS Hornet has been featured on shows like Ghost Adventures, Ghost Hunters. And both of those teams reported high activities including capturing EVPs. I think Zach may have been possessed on one of those. [00:22:54] Speaker D: You forgot to mention Northwest Security. [00:22:56] Speaker A: Oh, and. Well, I'm getting to that. I'm not finished. Been featured on shows like Ghost Hunters, Ghost Adventures, Northwest Curiosity, Society, into the Dark. Yeah, all t. All those teams included captured EVPs, unexplained shadows and. And temperature drops. Some claim that the ship's clock stops at the time of death in certain compartments. Than mysteriously we, we've gone to. We've gone to a lot of different locations over the years. I, I gotta say the USS Hornet was one of my favorites. Yeah, just Because I felt that we had so many different, I guess, stations that we would go to throughout the boat. And just about every location that we went to, there was stuff happening, right? Yeah, I don't. I don't. I don't remember one particular. Particular area. Although they said that the. The engine room was, like, the most haunted of all of them. And I didn't see or hear anything down there. I think that was the one spot. But literally every location that we went to and spent. I mean, there were some locations where we spent several hours before we moved to the next location. There was a lot of stuff. I think we still have tons of footage of video and audio. [00:24:09] Speaker C: What was your most memorable moment, Scott? [00:24:11] Speaker A: The dinner, probably? No, I think my most memorable lasagna was when we caught an EVP saying USS Hornet at the same time that we had the ghost grid camera going. The. What do you call it? [00:24:32] Speaker D: The. [00:24:33] Speaker C: The grid. The laser grid. [00:24:36] Speaker A: The Xbox connect. [00:24:37] Speaker C: Oh, oh, the slr. [00:24:39] Speaker A: Slr. [00:24:40] Speaker B: Sls. [00:24:41] Speaker A: Slr. So we had the SLS going at the same time that it. That it said USS Hornet. We got the EVP that said USS Hornet. And then this person walked down, like, put their hand up to their head, like they were saluting. I thought that one was really cool. There's a bunch of other haunted ships. The Mary Celeste, which is one of the sea's greatest mysteries. It was found in 1872, drifting with their cargo completely intact. But the entire crew was missing. No signs of struggle, no lifeboats. Gone. Paranormal theories include sea monsters, aliens, or dimensional rifts. Basically, a boat, full cargo, everything there, just the entire crew gone. The SS Watertown. Faces in the waves. [00:25:27] Speaker B: Scott, before you move on. [00:25:29] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:25:29] Speaker B: Where was that found at? [00:25:31] Speaker A: It didn't say. But if you look up. If you look up Mary. The Mary Celeste, it'll probably say, oh, [00:25:37] Speaker B: wait, I have it here. It was between. It was between Portugal and the Azores. Which reminds me of a joke. Do you guys want me to tell you a joke? [00:25:45] Speaker C: Yes. Yes, we need a joke. [00:25:47] Speaker A: Knock, knock. Knock, knock. [00:25:51] Speaker B: If you're standing on the border of Portugal and France taking a leak, what nationality are you? [00:25:57] Speaker C: European. [00:25:59] Speaker B: Oh, geez. You guys have heard this before? [00:26:01] Speaker C: Yes. [00:26:01] Speaker A: Yes. Yeah, last episode. [00:26:04] Speaker B: Okay, well, moving on. [00:26:05] Speaker A: And then there's the SS Watertown. In the 1920s, two of the sailors on the Watertown died in an accident. And days later, the crews saw their faces floating along the ship as it was traveling through the water. That would be super creepy. [00:26:21] Speaker C: Yeah, it would. [00:26:22] Speaker A: That would be creepy. Creepy. Okay, you guys ready to move on? [00:26:32] Speaker C: Let's do it. [00:26:33] Speaker D: Absolutely. [00:26:34] Speaker A: I am going to give you four pirate terms. One of them is not real. You guys need to guess which one is not real. One, a poop deck, which is the highest deck at the rear of the ship, usually above the captain's quarters. Not as funny as it sounds. [00:26:56] Speaker C: Swap the poop deck. [00:26:59] Speaker A: Second one is Duffel Clank, which is a mythical sea creature said to tangle sailors hammocks and steal their boots, often blamed for hangovers and missing parrots. [00:27:11] Speaker C: What's it called again? [00:27:13] Speaker A: The Duffel Clank. [00:27:14] Speaker C: The Duffel Clank. [00:27:15] Speaker A: Next is the Keyhole, which is a nasty pirate punishment where a sailor is dragged under the ship's keel, usually resulting in serious injury or, more often, death. And then there's the Jolly Roger, which is the iconic black pirate flag bearing a skull and crossbones, hoisted to strike fear and suggest surrender. [00:27:36] Speaker C: That's a given. [00:27:39] Speaker A: Poop deck, Danny. Gentlemen. One, two, three, or four. Which one is not true? [00:27:45] Speaker C: Go over them again. [00:27:46] Speaker A: One is the poop duck. Two is the Duffel Clank. Three is the Keyhole. And four is the Jolly Roger. [00:27:53] Speaker D: Duffel Clink. [00:27:54] Speaker A: You think? Duffel Clank. [00:27:56] Speaker D: That's the bird. [00:27:56] Speaker C: One, the keyhole. I'll be the oddball. [00:28:01] Speaker D: Keyhole. Surreal. [00:28:03] Speaker B: Duffel Clank. Final answer. [00:28:09] Speaker C: Locking it in. [00:28:09] Speaker D: Yeah. Duffel. Duffel. Plank. The keyhole is real. [00:28:14] Speaker C: I just wanted to be the oddball. [00:28:15] Speaker D: Thank you. Huh? Yeah. [00:28:16] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:28:17] Speaker C: Someone had to be wrong. [00:28:20] Speaker A: All right. Poop deck is a real thing. Keyhole is a real thing. The one that is not true. The Duffel Clank. Okay, you guys ready to move on? [00:28:41] Speaker D: Ready. [00:28:43] Speaker B: Let's do it. [00:28:49] Speaker A: Hello, and welcome to Guess that evp. All right. Guess that evp. Danny, what do you got for us? Okay. Yeah, yeah. Did you guys hear it one more time? One more time? Yeah. Yeah, it should be about 500 meters. [00:29:21] Speaker B: 30. [00:29:25] Speaker A: I'm lost. [00:29:31] Speaker B: What's. What's your guess? [00:29:33] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, it should be about 500 meters. Maybe. 500m30. [00:29:56] Speaker C: I hear nothing. I just hear a lady coughing. [00:29:59] Speaker D: Yeah, but this. And. [00:30:01] Speaker C: And then you were flicking the mic. [00:30:04] Speaker A: Yeah, I don't hear anything. [00:30:17] Speaker D: It's just a pink. I was. I was doing that to. Accentuating it. Yeah, it's a. [00:30:25] Speaker B: What's your guess? [00:30:28] Speaker A: I don't know. I think it's something dirty. [00:30:30] Speaker C: Yeah, probably. No, I'm probably gonna say it's inappropriate, not dirty. [00:30:38] Speaker B: It is a little sick and twisted. [00:30:40] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:30:43] Speaker B: Scott. [00:30:44] Speaker D: No, guess it's an actual sound. I'll say that. [00:30:47] Speaker C: Oh, it's an actual sound. [00:30:51] Speaker A: I'm confused. What are we getting? [00:30:53] Speaker B: Maybe. Maybe this would have been better for. [00:30:55] Speaker A: What the f. Is that? Yeah. Yeah. This. Yeah. Yeah. [00:31:19] Speaker B: Rob, you want to go ahead. You want to go ahead and tell him? [00:31:21] Speaker D: Rob. [00:31:23] Speaker C: You guys hitting the table? [00:31:26] Speaker D: That was the. That was the moment of implosion of the Titan. [00:31:31] Speaker B: Oh. [00:31:33] Speaker A: Oh, no. [00:31:39] Speaker D: It is caught. It is caught on. [00:31:42] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:31:44] Speaker C: That's not funny. [00:31:46] Speaker D: No. Too soon. [00:32:00] Speaker E: We set our course from Puget to sound A cryptic map the crew passed round a bottle washed up from the sea Sealed with wax and mystery the stars were dark, the wind stood still the ocean bowed to something swill A voice beneath the brinding moan Turn away or sail alone on a coast ship grave and wild the restless crew and spirits growl to curse it out we ride with pride when the treasure swings and phantoms high Raise the sails and the spirits fly we're the ones who won't pass by the no Northwest curiosity chasing down the mystery. The rigging rolled with unseen weight the deck was lined with ghostly fate A headless mate sank through the mist and rolled the bones with phantom fists A queen Mary fitted in our wake A ballroom dream that won't unmake her echoes danced across the sea O waltz of lost eternity make poised gay where the shadows sleep the gold is cursed but the secrets keep Mind the trees they whisper low and footsteps fall when unshuttered warn a ghost ship brave and wild With a restless crew and spirits round a bottle washed up from the spirit's rile to the cursed now we ride with pride where the treacherous sleeps and fans of. I raise the sails of the spirits fly we'll be legends when passed by the northwest curiosity knows the seas through sorcery. The northwest curiosity knows the seas to sorcery the rigged road with unseen weights the deck was lined with ghostly fates A headless mate sang through the mist and rolled the bows with phantom fists the queen Mary faded in our wake A ballroom dream that won't unmake her echoes danced across the sea I want some lust and eternity. [00:34:21] Speaker A: Thank you for listening. [00:34:22] Speaker D: All righty. All righty. All righty. [00:34:25] Speaker A: Thank you all for being here. And with that 90. [00:34:33] Speaker D: That's a wrap. [00:34:39] Speaker B: That's a wrap. Very nice. Yuck. Shamash. [00:34:43] Speaker A: Good night. [00:34:44] Speaker D: Bye. [00:34:44] Speaker B: Good night.
